hey guys

looking at buying an R33 GTS-T

I want to take it to a mechanic for a full mechanical inspection before i decide whether or not to buy it...

i'll be taking it to a mechanic where the car is located, which is about an hour from me ;)

just wanted to ask you guys if a normal mechanic would be suitable for that?

and would the inspection include the things like checking the timing belt to see if its been replaced (car has 122,000kms)

a compression test? im not too mechanical, so i dont know if you need a special workshop for that or anything...

and the clutch on it is apparently on the way out (seller to fix/replace before i purchase) so would they diagnose that problem etc?

if a normal mechanic can do the compression test, would that make the inspection cost a shit load more or anything? ( a mate told me he thinks rougly $80-$100 for the inspection itself)

aprreciate the replies guys
