Ive heard/read that by blocking the lines you can stuff the pump so how and were do you loop the system on a 32 pics would be nice. I dont really want to use a rubber hose as this may split under pressure has anyone made a nice metal u bend with fittings up that I can buy (maybe lockbar selling guy should include this as well with his kit)

do I really have to read all that again has it been updated with info on a how to loop a 32 last time it didnt have info on a 32 only a 33 then it went through how to remove the whole lot on a 32 gtr I only want to loop it for now so I can put it back to stock if and when I get defected again thanks though

Myself and other members went to the trouble to write the instructions, you want to know how to do it and you can't be bothered reading what was already written so you would like us to write it again.

Did I get that right?

As I said in my post I have already read the post and last time it didnt answer the question I asked. No need to get off but I dont want to go to all the trouble and cost of buy parts and swapping stuff over if there is a easier way such as looping the system.

Last time I checked almost every mod you do to your car can be defected these days and I'd rather be able to put my car back to stock easily then have to go through all the bother of swapping stuff back over casue the guy at regency noticed it looked different.

Listen to what the guys are telling you.

Some Skylines don't come with HICAS.

How does Regency (or anyone else) know whether your car came with HICAS?

It's not on the registration details for any of my cars.

Firstly, you obviously didn't read the thread properly, you can't simply loop the hydraulic hoses. There is still a rear steering rack and it needs to be replaced with something solid, otherwise the rear end will steer (a little bit) all on its own.

Secondly, you obviously didn't read the thread properly, well not my posts anyway. There is no hydraulic pressure when you bypass the front solenoids and run the power steering fluid return through the cooler pipe and back into the reservoir. So a piece of (longer) hose is a perfectly acceptable solution, in fact Nissan uses a piece of hose at the reservoir on the return.

Thirdly, you obviously didn't read the thread properly, as there is an explanation of how the Tomei HICAS locking kit works. If you are still (unnecessarily) concerned about going back to standard, then that kit is a perfectly suitable solution.

Hope that convinces you to re-read the thread.

:D cheers :)

regency will simply see the big metal pipe thats is not normaly on a 32 and jump to the wild conclusion that its not standard. I have read the post twice before and I am aware I need a lock bar I have already bought one hence the reason for saying that the guy on sau selling them should also sell a metal pipe to loop the hicas with it. I was only aware of a Tomei HICAS locking kit for a 33 not a 32 if the topic mentions one great but Ive already shelled out for the lock bar which I cant fit without going to what seems to be a lot of trouble? dont worry about it I'll have a stuff around with it myself without doing anything I cant put back to standard.

The "big metal pipe" should be painted black like the sub frame and should bolt unobtrusivley in the same spot. ,Then you put the standard rubber boots on each end of the tube with the standard steering arms screwed into the end of the tube inside the rubber boots. I should look just like the standard steering rack does. Splash a bit of mud on it if you like, so it is not clean and the surroundings are dirty.

I have never seen a Tomei HICAS lock kit for an R33 (electric motor), I have only seen R32 ones (hydraulic ram).

What you want to achieve is actually quite simple. Remove the standard rack, there are 2 hydraulic hoses connected to it. Unbolt the hoses from the rack and from the terminal block and close off the fittings in the terminal block with bolts. Put the hydraulic lines in a plastic bag and store it in a safe place. Then undo the the hydraunlic hose from the front solenoids, under the inlet manifold on the RHS inner guard. Buy a short (around 600 mm) piece of rubber bypass hose (hydraulic) from Pirtec, Enzed etc and slip one end of it over the steel pipe that comes from the power steering pump up to the solenoids. Then stick the other end over the steel pipework that comes from the cooler pipe (it runs around in a loop in front of the radiator). Don't forget to block off the holes in the front solenoid block with bolts as well to keep the crap out.

To turn it back to standard just remove the bypass hose, whack the standard hoses back on (front and rear) and swap the rear rack. Once you have done it, it should only take an hour or so, including jacking the car up.

Hope that helps

:P cheers :D

PS; I still think you are stressing over nothing, if you do a good job, no one will ever notice. Plus you get to save 20 kgs or so.

    • I recently got their dbw 74mm throttle body and pedal kit. It is sensational quality especially the wiring harnesses. Unfortunately I can’t answer u about the fitment to stock inlet manifold as I’m going Rahjab Racing forward plenum. Only one thing to be careful of is understand u have to pay gst and import fees if your purchase is over $1,000 in one shipment.
    • yeah i agree paint match stops it from standing out so much, oh that's actually really good to know i was wondering if it would help with air flow now actually having an outlet in the bonnet. Will have to focus on ducting into and out of the radiator now to make the most of it.
    • I would paint match the whole thing to avoid unwanted attention  I had a similar bonnet, paint matched, on my old R33 GTST, but mine was a fibreglass jobbie made by Blitz in QLD, they work extremely well for radiator efficiency and under bonnet temps
    • Does anyone run this kit with factory plenum? Does the adapter and bosch tb fit under factory strut brace? I wanted to get this setup before going forward facing manifold. Thanks
    • small update time, after always wanting a "cool" looking bonnet for my car and always struggling to find one for the series 2 that i liked and wasn't an insane amount of money. Saw one i liked on RHDjapan from D-speed in Japan the price was very good for a carbon bonnet so good infact i was a little unsure how much i trusted it, decided to bite the bullet and with the help of jesse streeter in not long at all it was at my door. Once it was delivered i ran in from work and quickly unboxed it and to my surprise the quality was actually pretty good i quickly removed the old bonnet and placed on the new one to test it out and even the fitment wasnt too bad at all. Then decided to paint the little grille in the bonnet black to stop it sticking out so much.   I decided to not mess around with the hood latch and just install some aero catch hood pins, having never installed them before did some YouTube university classes and i was good to go. fair to say it is not a fun job at all from making brackets so the pins sit nicely and actually cutting through the bonnet but also being very scared of cutting the holes too big it took wayyyy longer than i would like to admit but finally got it there. Then it was time for a quick test drive to ensure the latches actually worked and thankfully the bonnet looked very stable. I still think paint matching the bonnet and leaving just the part that sticks up as carbon would help make it all look alot neater as im not sure how i feel about all that carbon on a very fridge white car but will leave it as is and see how i feel with time.
