Hey guys,

Well as one of my turbos died last week I've considered an upgrade....

Someone has offered to sell me these turbos:

Group A N1.....the code is something like 14411-06U-00

R34 V Spec II

AR 60-64

5 degree cut rear wheel

360 degree thrust bearing

Steel wheels

Is there some way i can verify that they are of an R34 VSPEC II?

They've done low kms and look to be in great nick.

He's saying he wants $1000 bux.......good price?

Also, how will installing these turbos on my standard R32 GTR improve performance? It has nothing, except for Apexi airfilters and a full exhaust system.

From what i understand the N1 turbo's have a slightley larger turbine blade than stock giveing a small power improvement for the same rough amount of boost. Of course the main bennefit is that the turbo blades are steel, instead of the stock ceramic ones. This means better reliability and the ability to run more boost than the stock turbos.

The N1 turbo's were designed by Nismo for competition use, offering the best trade in their opinion between response and power. Their the best option for the price for track GTR's, road/race GTR's and fast street GTR's. The spool up time is almost identical to stock, but you can also run boost levels up to 1.3-1.5 bar without fear, unlike the stock ceramic ones.

With the appropriate other mods, Exhaust/IC/Fuel System/ECU and 1.4Bar ive seen a few GTR's make anything between 260KW-330KW at the wheels, depending on tune and dyno.

For $1000 id say they were a good buy.

i wont waste your time on this turbos personally

the turbos you want BRAND NEW are the garret replacements 707160-5

racepec are selling them for around $2400 new

the reason i say dont waste your time are the r34 vspec turbos are still ceramic turbine wheels and still fail and if they fail under the wrong conditions will take the motor with them (like the last r34 i built) and the group "a" are laggy but strong

the gt2560r 707160-5 i use in a light modify combo ,generate well over 500rwhp with basically no lag what so ever (have done a number of these combos now)

so for a little more money now you will never regret it later.

OK bit of confusion, the code hes given matches R32 nismo code, but he reckons that the paperwork is in fact of an R34? Anyways....

He was asking about R34 N1 turbos, but I agree with your comment on the Vspec turbos. Did a conversion on the RB25DET with a pair and the front turbine let go at 5psi. Damned ceramic crap.

The R34N1's use inconel instead of steel on the turbine wheel.

Still seems a good price for N1 turbos. The advantage of the R34 N1 is the roller bearing and the inconel turbine.

Just for interest, my turbos are steel wheeled stockies on the GTR, and they produce 260rwkw at 1bar with the stock computer so the N1 should do a bit better. While it's apart why not get some decent dumps and a set of UAS extrude honed manifolds? Of course it's more cash but the time is right.

this turbo 100% not R34 N1 turbo,couse R34 N1 turbo got separate wagste at back of turbo and R34 V-spec2 use same turbo as R34GTR,no any different.hope it wil help.

the one you got more than likely are R32 N1.not Nismo turbo.

couse Nismo turbo's code are RR580 or RR581.

How much extra dosh are we talking, for the dumpa dn UAS extrude honed manifolds? How will they improve performance? Sorry for the basic quiestions, but although i've owned a whole stack of imports, i really haven't gone all gunz blazing in modifying them......

LoL....that pic with the code saying its nismo has confused me now......so are they normal n1 or nismo n1.....or what not.....:S

I thiink they were called Nismo on the R32.

Take a look at www.nismo.com.au for the UAS stuff. JP is on the forum here as boosted zed and has done some posts on the extrude honed manifolds.

still no word on improvement on performance?

The topic of GTR N1 turbo's comes up all the time.

and the usual response is they arent as good as a set of HKS 2530's which are better in every area.

The N1's arent the best turbo. 32 N1's (as it seems these are) are a cheap upgrade, and will get you more power.

But get into a car with a decent set of turbos and you'll cry everytime you drive yours for overlooking it

I tried searching.

The search engine kept telling me something along the lines of "less than four characters" so i can search......that ruled out N1 and GTR. Leaving...turbos. LoL

yeah agree that the HKS turbos are better, but I'm just chucking these on as the budget option, until Jan, when I will sell the car.
