Hey all excuse the newbie question. Im in the market to buy an exhaust for my R33 series II and Ive come accross two types Cat back and Turbo back exhaust whats the difference price, noise etc?? Also ive seen cars with exhausts and if you look inside the cannon they have these ugly restrictor looking things which I dont want whats with these things? I just want a cannon that is a proper cannon muffler not restricting the exhaust gasses. Any input would be highly appreciated.

cat back is from the cat (catalytic converter about half way up the car) to the rear of the car

turbo back is from the turbo all the way to the back of the car

it includes the dump and front pipe which is the section between the tubo and the cat a high flow cat and then the cat back system.

the rectictor thing ur talking about im guessing is a removable silencer thses and just bolted in and can be easily removed

get a 3" cat back fitted/supplier at your exhaust shop and get a 3" split dump from batmbl and you get best of both worlds. give the split dump to your exhaust place and get them to fit at the same time.

the split dump will remove turbulance off the exhaust housing and allow it to flow more as its not being forced down out a 2" exit (i think the stock is 2.25" actually). it will flow more it top end as it wont choke and the car feels fantastic after this is done. also the turbo spool up noise is a little bit more auidable with a larger dump and front pipe combo
