why is it that rb powered skylines tend to have less deeper sound to the vl commodore? does it have to do with the exhuast length diameter or shape? any other factors? why when people fit rb20 or 25 det to a vl it still sounds like a vl where in skylines they have a sound more suited to japanese vehicles and vls have a deep sound that suits the australain muscle cars? does this affect the performance between the two? also can the r31 diff gears be fitted on a vl diff?

vls have a deep sound that suits the australain muscle cars?
Uh? The VL's I see/hear at the drags are incredibly quiet, so quiet sometimes that the only way you can tell the engine is on is that their is heaps of smoke coming from the back tyres or from the blowoff valve.

Actually i wasnt really talking about sound loudness, neither turbo. in an NA rb30e in a vl and r31 why does the sound differnce occur? is it the different length extractors? even stock the vl has a deeper sound thats like most other holden sixes and the skyline sounds a bit like a pintara.

y would u put r31 gears onto a vl, i beleive they are the same ratio 3:45's

what would be the point in that?

as for the note, well the engine is mounted differently, different length manifold, all different bends, due to axle, and size, muffler and all those things play a part also.

not tomention, 3 litre and a 2.5 litre

not tomention, 3 litre and a 2.5 litre

umm both the vl's and r31's are standard 3 litre engines

the rb30e

(well the vl came out with the rb30et but thats a different story)
