On friday i drove down to where Maltech are and i got some custom made SS braided brake lines.

Being the first with the stagea there, i was a guiny pig and it took a little longer then expecteed.

The fronts are almost identical to R33 GTR lines, but there is an extra hose that is needed for the Stagea. The rear lines are completely unique to make.

I have to admit i was a little skeptical of it at first, but once i drove off for the first time, i noticed that teh ABS under soft braking was locking up on the same dirt road i came in on. Driving on the fwy back home, i did some braking tests. The difference is quite amazing. The biggest improvement was in the precision of the brakes. Before, where i was in D i could either slip the brakes till the car would move or for it to be stopped. Now, the brakes can slip a tiny bit, a bit more and bit bit more... big difference to me.

Additionally, they are not too hard to install. I was watching the guys do them, if i was buying a kit i dont think i could call it a hard job, not SIMPLE though (need to know something about brakes)

Anyway, i am not sure what price they will release the kits at, but for the moeny, i think its really worth it. The difference between lines and pads are that the lines are there forever, a never wearing performance upgrade (ie, dont replace them like better pads or rotors)

Nice Work! Braided lines are an awesome upgrade.... Ive got a set on my Fireblade and they have made an unreal difference (just waiting to receive my wave rotors and I'll have the best brakes in the business!!).

Better braking 'feel', obviously way less flex than with the original rubber lines, and they wont breakdown over time.

Bet they feel awesome! Add a set of xdrilled slotted DBA rotors and topspec sinstered pads and your brakes will be as good as they can be (besides spending big $$ on Brembos)! Good stuff.

Only thing is, are the ones you had made up ADR approved and certified? Im sure it wouldnt be a problem if they arnt (the set on my bike arnt, they were from USA). :P

You'd have to be unlucky to be done for having them on the car, but would obviously be a defect if picked up if they arnt ADR approved.

Still, good stuff in taking the plunge and having them custom made for the Stagea....... B)

I watched them make the hoses in front of me. They are ADR approved and all tested to 3500psi on this machine thing. (pretty cool to watch)

I had to drive 2 hours and 200km to get to the guys....pissed my girl off quite bad...but it was worth it in the end.

Next thing for me, discs and pads.

Im longing for some power mods, but stupid shipping from japan takes too long :P

Got prices,

"We have worked out the price for the set which will include

8 Stainless Braided Brake Hoses ADR Approved

4 Banjo Bolts

8 Copper Washers

Retail $465.00"

Here are some pictures of them installed on my car.

Front has two parts the it. The small std hose with steel tube was replaced with a new hose.

I honestly reccomend the upgrade for anyone.

Hi Guys,

If you are after stainless braided brake hoses we can now supply them with coloured plastic coated braided hose.

Picture shows plastic coated colours and insert colours

Ive asked for a quote for fronts only

:D

i think i missed something. pushing the pedal won't help if you have no rotors or lines, no matter who's foot it is

wilma and fred did it, even with bambam and pebbles in the stag.

lol

let me rephrase

the aftermarket braided lines, aftermarket pads and aftermarket rotors will all be sold.

the stock lines, stock pads and stock rotors will all go back in.

I dont throw away ANYTHING that i remove (unless its well and truely dead/beyond repair (aka, old bushes))
