I'm about to run these tyres for the first time and was wondering if someone could give me some help with COLD tyre pressures. And what is the optimum HOT pressure i should be aiming for.

I'm running these on my Toyota Supra, i'm asking you guys because the GTR and Supra are around the same weight and would like to save some time chasing the optimum pressure for these tyres.

Thanx

We use these on a GTS-t and maintain 30-32 PSI hot. Start at around 24-25 PSI Cold and adjust from there.

Ian

Which track and how many laps?

Ian do you start with same pressures front and rear left and right? generally you will get 2-3psi extra heat in front v rear and 2-3psi inside v outside tyres. So for example Oran Park if you are aiming for 32 all round maybe start with

RF 25

RR 27

LF 27

LR 29

Duncan, yes I start with around 25 psi all round and adjust at the finish of 1st Superprint 3 flat out laps. At EC RF and RR are always higher after running than LF and LR and I adjust all to 31 PSI.

Dont be worried to much about COLD pressures as long as they are ball park it will be fine . The key is to get to your designated hot pressures asap . Say 38psi is your target ( thats mine for toyo888's) ill start cold at 35psi do my sprint ( 4 laps) and when car returns to pits quickly reset pressures to my target of 38 psi as they have usually gone over this . Ill do this for the next seesion and then find that they are all at my optimal pressure by the third sprint and no need to reset.

adam

32 psi Hot sounds a little low but hey all tyres are different that's why i am asking.

What i'll do then is start at 28 psi cold and work down until i reach about 32psi HOT.

I'm doing a track day at Eastern Creek, 20 min session, 5+ hot laps taking into account warm up and cool down laps, good point about the pressures front to rear and side to side, i'll monitor it and let you guys know.

Thanx again

geeman.
