Ok I bought a pipping kit to suit my 180 and I am wanting to get some peoples opinions on overall quality of the kit. Not going to say where I got it as it might ruin his reptuation or sales or whatever. What I ordered isn't what I got but that's another story, just want some opinions on quality of pipes.... thanks guys

I will correct myself. I would be disgraced to sell anything that was made to that standard. I would personally be returning it for a refund, or if it comes to if use it as a projectile.

All I will say is ... Average!

I think your filename sums it up nicely: "shitwelds.jpg"

Shit welding, looks like it doesnt penetrate through the pipe. The welds i would have thought would be cleaned up especially on the inside, where they will substantially negatively effect the air flow.

That take off for the BOV is an absolute joke! (im guessing thats what its meant to be?)

I hope your piping is not indicative of the quality of the piping thats regularly on sale on these forums.

I could make a better set of pipes and ive only done about an hour of weldin gin my life!

Get a refund, and demand that they pay for the postage as well.

I just got off the phone they say refund is out of question but will send me a hybrid kit instead when I mail this back, i just want money back but looks like i'll have to goto small claims court for that *sigh*

And yes I did get it from a forum, but not SAU but another australian performance car forum.

not sure i don't really read this forums, just thought i'd put it up so people can see what some traders do. it was from a trader but not this forum. On the phone he said why are you dissing my welds? said they are good and he's been welding for years so says i'm just being fussy.

After checking your pics I gaurantee that he is selling fake hybrid kits aswell.

I reckon you should get this traders name out in the open so other people dont buy from him. Also mention it to the moderators from the other forum so they are aware of his dodgy dealings.

A lot of the traders from other forums have a crack at selling on SAU so it would be good if we can avoid this guy on SAU.

Is he based in Australia? Was the piping kit manufactured in Australia? Or was it sent from overseas?

These crappy traders give me the shits cos they take business from those that are selling quality items.

I could have welded up something better in my year 9 design and technology class when I was 15 while pissed and wearing a blind fold kekekegay.gif

There are many wannabe traders floating around the forums at the moment claiming to be legitimate businesses and trying to cash in on the current trends in performance products.

well I got a genuine hybrid gt cooler kit for $750 off a private seller on these forums... the quality was excellent... the piping, clamps, core etc were all beautifully welded and polished and the install was relatively stress free (for a professional workshop not for me )

so I guess what I'm trying to say is that there are bargains to be had and a lot of genuine traders on these forums... If buying sight unseen best to go for a name brand kit from a trader with a good track record... otherwise try and inspect the parts before you buy

sometimes it is worth spending a little more time/money for the peace of mind... hope you get your money back or at least a decent piping kit!

According to Fair Trade act though there is a section "Buyer's right of examining the goods" it says......

Sec1 "When goods are delivered to the buyer, which the buyer has not previosly examined, the buyer is not deemed to have accepted them unless and until the buyer has had resonable opportunity of examining them for the purpose of ascertaining wether they are in conformity with the contract"

Sec2 "Unless otherwise agreed, when the seller tenders delivery of goods to the buyer, the seller is bound, on request, to afford the buyer a resonable opportunity of examining the goods for the purpose of ascertaining whether they are in comformity with the contract"

A contract is between the buyer and sell written or verbal, the contract was not fulfilled so I can legally request a refund since he is a registered business and if he doesn't want to then I can goto small claims and good chance I will win since half of what I ordered is missing and other half is not to my design needs as required by our contract.

UPDATE: I have contact the company again stating that I would like a refund when I return the pipes to them. First they said they will accept return of my current pipes and design them how I asked in the first place and make sure the welds are good. I declined the offer as I don't want to take risk of them getting here and being as bad as these. I told them I just want a refund they said ok but we keep 20% of the refund and I told them that's not acceptable as they didn't tell me that before I bought it. I told them if I didn't get a full refund i'll be in contact with the office of fair trade and ACCC and seek a refund via small claims court. They then accepted to refund me fully upon return of the pipes so they will be sent back tomorrow and hopefully I have my $690 back next week.

Let this be a lesson to other customers buying from dodgy dealers/traders, don't give up and persue your right to quality parts if they are advertising them. Read the www.fairtrading.gov.au and www.accc.gov.au if you feel you're being ripped off.

Good to hear ya stuck to your guns and got your cash back, that is shit quality piping and welding.

i bought cooler and cooler piping from rmahnovetsky in the gb section of this forum. All stuff was good quality and he's a good trader, fast delivery etc. Anyway all up was under 700 so might be worth a look.
