to my above question

i asked a mate who has had a different sets of rims on hes 32 and reckons that the 18 x 9 +30 will be fine

he suggests a 215 front tyre and 225 rear, i dont mind having tyres stretched a tad and will suit the car nicely

sorry for all this newbie questions not the best with offsets and that

u can make it fit, depending on the tyre you run up front and the offset all around.

18x9.5 +35 with 255/35 all round. Would that fit without needing to lip/flare the guards? Also, would that be the most suitable size tyre, or should I be looking at 235/40 or something?

235/40 would be a much better option for a daily driver, 255's will scrub on the guards and possibly on the suspension up front. 255's are overkill, especially up front, better of spending more a quality smaller tyre. also not 100% sure about 18x9.5 +35's fitting up front, id be worried about upper control arm clearance, saying that im not too sure how much clearance R33's have.

quick questioin

which would fit better to my sedan

18 x 8 +35 all round

or

18 x 9 +30 all round

car will be fair low as well, so might need liping?

depends what tyres u run, if u run relative sizes for each width, for example a 215 on the 8" and a 235 on the 9", the 8" with the 215 will have more clearance both from suspension and guards. 9" will sit a lot more nicer and allow better sized tyres, and still fit as long as u long as u dont run over a 235-245 up front.

215 and 225 will be fine, but as i said u could get away with a 235 up front, and probably like a 255 up the rear if u really wanted.

first id ask why u want to run 255's all round, u could get away with smaller tyres easily while maintaining the same traction. im not 100% sure how much inner clearance there is on a R33, but id suspect u couldnt go much over a +35 at the front, to be safe id probably go +30, even so ur looking at issues with guard clearance. id be going a quality 235 instead, will probably cost similar $$ and provide better steering response and clearance.

Hey I'm looking at buying some 20"x8" (yes i know 20s on a skyline is a bit of overkill, i want something that will really fill the guards though)

anyway, just wondering if they will fit

+42 offset

235/30/20 tyres all round

my cars lowered on adjusties, isn't slammed, sits at a nice level, bit lower than super low king springs

doubt it, rear they will probably fit no worries, fronts i strongly doubt it, will most likely foul on the UCA's pretty bad.

i want something that will really fill the guards though)

Quick question, do you think 17x9 +20's all round with 225/40 tyres would be too much for a R32 GTST 2 door with stock guards at quite a low height (currently 17x7s all round, tyres in guards almost)?

^^will sit very nice depending on camber, but u will need to roll the guards, no pulling or flaring needed.

Ok thanks that was the answer i was looking for, not my car but a friends, will be having the wheels fitted by Wheelworx this weekend, sill put pics up when its all done.

I have a set and they fit fine with stretched 215/45/17 rubber. I am planning on using them as track wheels so I can run 235/40/17 RE55's all round and rotate them.

I'm expecting to need to flare the guards a bit but i don't mind that. Might even buy fibreglass front guards that are wider.

I'm a bit concerned about hitting the suspension. Has anyone had this combo before with wider width rubber?

Wheel diameter = 18

Wheel offset = +35, but with the 15 mm spacers this has changed. Can somone tell me what they are now? +20?

Tyre size = 235/45/18

Modifications to fit = 15mm bolt on spacers all round to clear the brakes + lipped and rolled guards.

Yeah 20 now. Further out is a smaller number. That's a pretty aggresive offset! Did you need the spacers to clear the suspension?

i ran 235/45's all day every day on R33 GTR rims, 17x9 +30 with a 235/45 is pretty much the limit for inner clearance, u wont need a flare to fit it in the guard, but ull need to roll the guard, which is something u need to do to fit any decent size wheel. depends how much camber u are running as well, but imo its perfect size for stock guards.

Hi guys, as for me I have

Skyline model = R33

Wheel diameter = 18"

Wheel width = 8" front, 9.5'' rear

Wheel offset = 35

Tyre size = 235/45/18 front, 265/45/18 rear,

as for winter (here in Russia its a bit snowy :D ) I put on rear 245/45/18

    • Oh and my rear arms may need some attention too.    
    • Bushings are almost done. Check the date stamp 😂 these are likely the original bushings with 27 years and 243ks on them.     Was too dark to get a pic of the worst one.
    • Porous blocks are a known issue on something like a Porsche M96, it's not really something I've ever heard of on an RB26. It's possible what people thought was a "porous block" was really a cracked block that they just didn't spot the crack on.
    • This is a controversial subject really, the whole power vs fun thing I mean And this is the main reason I got back into a MX5 Of the last few notable daily cars I've owned whilst I have frequented SAU R33 GTS-t: fun, but because I'm a idiot I modified well past a reliable fun car and ended up hating it, although that was my fault because I tried to have a daily cruiser and race car all in one, the family called it the sometimes car, because sometimes it was working, sometimes it was broken, gladly sold it NB MX5: brilliant car, thrashed the Bejebus out of it, but, again, was stupid and deleted the air con, power steering and stripped the interior out, whilst still fun, and reliable, and super cheap on consumables, it was not a fun place to be going on long cruises, I did love it, but basically every family member hated going anywhere in it, sadly sold it 2015 WRX STI: soulless thing that looked like your average Kia sedan and had that horrible boxer engine with glass ringlands, the family did like it though, that thing was one of my stupidest purchases and I still regret it 2017 Toyota 86: 😪 if I didn't crash it, I would probably still have it, it was a fun little thing, even with that horrible boxer engine, the family did like it, the only reason I didn't get another 86, or, BRZ was the boxer engine, I should have learnt after owning the STI, but I'm a idiot VX SS: great cruiser, fits the whole family, and was fast as.....in a straight line, but a big fat thing, so no enjoyment throwing it around corners, the family was unimpressed with the whole boganness of if, but they did admit it was a comfy place to sit on long cruises As for the NC, I feel it is perfect for what I want, or need out of of a car, whether I'm cruising the Hwy, back roads, twisties or peak hour traffic, the Mrs doesn't mind driving it either, or cruising in it as well, although she does bump her head of the roof nearly every time she gets in, which is farking hilarious, and the kids love taking it for a thrash as well So basically, I've had constantly more fun, and way less headache and heartache, both on the track and on the street, in low powered cars,  go figure.....LOL One thing though, the Mrs has stated that the cams have made the exhaust sound much louder, which they have, but it doesn't bother me, in fact, I actually like it, but, to negate any future comments from the Minister for War and Finances I may look at some changes to the rear muffler set-up to drop the volume down a tad to appease her when we are out and about in it
    • You will need to extend the turbo inlet pipe somehow, which could/might be done with silicone/rubber pipe, but might need steelwork, depending on your intake. And you will need to change the pipework on the outlet in teh same way, but this is more likely to need steelwork.
