Anyone know what could make an r33 rear axle sit slightly over from where it should be? IE rear left wheel poked out, rear right wheel sunken ~25mm? Collapsed bushings?

something like that....has it taken a hit in the rear side on? usually moves the subframe but thats def where i would be looking!

have you had the car in for alignment checks?

If that's the case is that repairable? I've had it into Pedders before for alignment and suspension install and they never mentioned it.

I took it back to them thinking one side ride height was off but he said it was normal, and then said the rear end looks like it's tightened off to one side.

Nissan factory.... although normally not 25mm

there was a discussion about this a while back and many R33 owners came forward and noted that their car was like this.

Seems to be something normal and unproblematic and not (necessarily) because or a kerb bash and subframe and alignment damage.

Tho not to say that this isnt the case with your car or some examples of this one wheel sitting out furhter that the other...

sure not 235/40?

will look good man.... just be careful not to pull the front guards at all when you lip them and give the rears a good nudge from way up inside and they should both sit flush

Ok, they have 35 on them apparently , (2nd hand) so ill have to factor that in, could be a miss type on his end,

might be a 245/35 that's also reasonably common and will work but not quite as well as a 235/40... bombtrack is running them on his 9.5's with no hastles

I'm guessing 17x8 +5 on the front of a 32 gtst won't have enough caliper clearance? My 16x8 +0 didn't fit my front without a 15mm spacer...

The 17x8 +5 in question a stich mesh wheels.

depends on the brand...

with most jap rims caliper clearance is not affected by offset, rather by face

Thanks, you have a point, I've since found out that it would fit :)

I've been trying to source a set of r33 gtr rims for my 32 gtst. What sized tyres would be good? I usually run 235/45/17 with my other set that are 17x8.5 +30, the gtr rims are 17x9 +30 if I'm not mistaken. Could I fit a wider tyre in the back than a 235?

What are 18s going to sit like on a 34 gtt with

9.5 fronts +30 and

9.5 +12 rears?

Tires will only be

235 - 35 F

255 - 35 R

That's what I plan on running on my 34 cept +20 rears, I measured the +20s should be flush... I plan on running very little camber though as im tryin to get 500hp to the ground!

I ran 9.5+12 with a low car (tyres just tucked) and 320rwkw... had very little camber on the rears and had to massage the inner guards a little to get it to fit with a 235/40

My caliper, many other components much older have surface rust but never eating part of the metal   Had I not seen it , could have been a disaster! specifically on rear part of bracket coming off like biscuit will update on what they say, helpful people so far
    • January or Feb is it booked in for turbo fitment?
    • The MX5 has had some annoying rattles in both front doors over bumps So I installed fancy pants door bushings, which stopped all of the rattles with the windows up, but........with the windows down there was still rattles, so after some googling,  and a chat with MX5 Mania, I got some new door to glass weather seals, all the rattles, windows up, or down, are gone now Shout out to MX5 Mania, the weather seals were on sale, and when I head to Dural to pick the up they even fitted them for me for free I did see a "really" nice Blue NA sitting out front   and this Black NC PRHT that looked like it has sat in the sun for its whole life and never had a wash, the clear coat was non-existent, an it looked horrible, really horrible, but, it had a nice turbo kit with over 200kw, the thing went like a cut snake, bagging the rears through the gears and dosing like a champ 😍 But, as I've always stated, I am keeping my NC na, I'm happy with the current power the car makes In other news: MX5 Mania do a drive in drive out turbo kit, the only minor additional part recommended for boosting my car, as it sits now, is a oil cooler, and that bonnet vents are definitely required for track use Aftermarket version look a bit to "racecar" spec I wonder how Focus RS bonnet vents would look?????
    • Paint is only structural when applied to the outside of Chinese and Indian cars. Otherwise it should never be present between mechanical joints that were intended to be metal to metal. Pain slips, slides, cracks, compresses, and add thickness that wasn't intended to be there. It comes firmly under the category of "just no".
