Skyline model = R33 GTST

Wheel diameter = 17"

Wheel width = 8" front 9" rear

Wheel offset = +30 front +35 rear

Tyre size = 235/45/17 front 255/40/17 rear

Modifications to fit = none, not lowered (would probably have to roll guards if lowered to far)

Nice and flush.

34 gtt. Definitely going to run a 235/40 now as I'm realising the front is going to be a tricky fit.

I'll just have to put up with it until I convert to wide guards

just run 235/40 all round.

remember that a good quality 235 is gong to give you more grip than a shitty 265... it's not all about the width.. I used to run 300+ on 235 nitto NT05 with great traction (well what you can call great for 300+ rwkw

also the fronts are an easy fit... just need to massage the guards and remove the liners... took me like 15 mins to roll the fronts for that size

hell no.

legal minimum for a 9.5" is 245 and 235 is within specs for many manufacturers....

this means it's tested not to fail

just dont want the sidewall collasping on me on a hard corner. I may have to get 245 to be safe then but how much bigger is the 245 than the 235 on the sidewalls "5mm"?.want little to no scrubbing issues

you aint gonna lose a tyre from a 235 on a 9.5"

I've happily driven a 300+rwkw car up mt buller road at 10/10ths with 235's on 9.5's

if i die its you to blame hehe, jokes thanks for the info.

Would be more likely to un-seat the bead than collapse the side wall. Not good either way though.

ill push with caution and get better tyres to compansate

a 235 on a 9.5 isn't going to unseat the bead... it'snot a stretched tyre.

anything that de-beads a 235 on a 9.5 would have done the same to a 265

http://www.nittotire.com/Tire/nt05#size

check that... the NT-05's that I used on the 33.

look at the 235/40 - it's approved by the manufacturer (in super litigious america) from 8.0 - 9.5

should end any arguments

Weekend teat fit showed that

18x9.5 /10 +15/20 has no chance on my 34gtt

Mad Mexican with no camber,

Hoping to have more luck with 18x9.5 +30 all round with 235/40.

Will stick out 35mm not 55, hopefully be able to make it work, unfortunately interstate so I have to commit and hope.

Weird how much 18x9.5 +15 stuck out on my 34. The tires were 235/40 and the top edge of the Tyre tread even stuck out past the guard. No camber and stock height but it was fairly gay looking. I should have taken a picture.

When u camber the wheels with adjustable camber arms, does it pull the top of the wheel in or push the bottom out, or does it pivot from the center of the wheel?

centre.... but when you lower the car it cambers and tucks a fair amount naturally.

the guards on my care were pulled fairly aggressively, but not flared. the front guards are soft as... you can pretty much put them whereever you want

did you see the pics i posted 18 x 9.5 +20 at the back will be flush. If you want to have a bigger tyres to utilise the grip of a 9.5 then get a 30.

    • January or Feb is it booked in for turbo fitment?
    • The MX5 has had some annoying rattles in both front doors over bumps So I installed fancy pants door bushings, which stopped all of the rattles with the windows up, but........with the windows down there was still rattles, so after some googling,  and a chat with MX5 Mania, I got some new door to glass weather seals, all the rattles, windows up, or down, are gone now Shout out to MX5 Mania, the weather seals were on sale, and when I head to Dural to pick the up they even fitted them for me for free I did see a "really" nice Blue NA sitting out front   and this Black NC PRHT that looked like it has sat in the sun for its whole life and never had a wash, the clear coat was non-existent, an it looked horrible, really horrible, but, it had a nice turbo kit with over 200kw, the thing went like a cut snake, bagging the rears through the gears and dosing like a champ 😍 But, as I've always stated, I am keeping my NC na, I'm happy with the current power the car makes In other news: MX5 Mania do a drive in drive out turbo kit, the only minor additional part recommended for boosting my car, as it sits now, is a oil cooler, and that bonnet vents are definitely required for track use Aftermarket version look a bit to "racecar" spec I wonder how Focus RS bonnet vents would look?????
    • Paint is only structural when applied to the outside of Chinese and Indian cars. Otherwise it should never be present between mechanical joints that were intended to be metal to metal. Pain slips, slides, cracks, compresses, and add thickness that wasn't intended to be there. It comes firmly under the category of "just no".
