It will look retarded..... I sense some vomit coming up already..

Unless! You flare which would require a fair amount of body work, Low and camber tuck hard AND if you did id be pretty jealous because I wanna do it haha

I'd try something like a 18x10 with between a 0 to +10 offset, that would look amazing!

Oh and I got my fronts on today..... So happy!!!!

im gonna ask what is possibly a dumb question but im happy to hear all input.

got 18x9.5 +38 Work emotion CR Kais.

275/35 on teh back and fit fine.

245/40 stretched on teh front....and they dont get past the brakes >.<

car is a 33 SII GTS-T, no guard mods front or rear whatsoever atm.

is 5 or 10mm spacer and/or guard roll the correct course of action from here?

cheers

sean

spacers are your only option to clearn the brakes. as for guard roll depends if you need it once wheels are on.. i think you might get away with it if you put a smaller tyre 275 is farkn huge dude.. ive got 265 on a 10" and thats to much.. try a 245/255 u can even go 235 but that'd be fair stretch'd also spacers all round is not something i'd want to drive around on i hate them depending how much its not clearing by u might get away with a small slip on spacer of a couple mm.. just a thought

better advice sell them and get something with a better offset.. but if u dont do this give the above ago a post pics of result :(

lol blags.. saw u last night cruising through t/c wheels looked toughhhhh!

so with 275s the right rear fitted fine, and the left didnt >.> so light guard roll at the left rear and it was sorted. the front will be running an 8mm slip spacer and longer studs, with a touch of camber. will test drive after spacers and see if it needs a guard roll. rear looks great atm, cant wait to get em on all round :(

235 on 10" is fair stretch i had it..

batak - pizza hut called they want their pizza slicers back

sean put the wheels up for sale its really the best bet trust me u dont want to be running on spacers front and rear its shit, voids ur insurance (not that that's the major problem) and will drive like balls.

i dont think disk type matters much on cr kai's? just re reading above to.. u sure 8mm is enough that will only take ur offset to +30 still pretty high

im not running spacers on the rear... not sure where you got that from

and yes at the front. 8mm clears the brakes. 3mm didnt, 5mm didnt, 3mm+5mm (just to test) fitted and obv 10mm did. so a single 8mm will work and im happy to do that after fitting longer studs..

nice offset.... will require camber OR flare, but not both

personally i'd go flare and keep the rears on the road :D

changing to +15 17x9 and +18 17x9. due to issue with brake clearance on the front (silly ap calipers)

running +23 9inch atm wonder how it go with the +18

here is what it looks with a 8mm split on so +15 front

    • You ask for things. You specifically state you want responsiveness. A link was provided for a far superior, more responsive option. Find a MX5 workshop that will install it for you. Maybe MX5 Mania will throw on the Fab9 kit. It seems they want to charge almost 14K installed for their kit, so if they charge you $6K to install the FAB9 kit then you'll be ahead? Though really, the 2.5 with a 2860 running low boost will more or less feel as good as anything else. It's a lot of displacement and a small turbo. Think of a more modern RB26 with one stock turbo :p TBH, truth be told I've been driving my own car, and use about 50% throttle at most for 99.9% of the time. Mr Bogan is likely similar so this is all going to be semantics for the use case he actually has. (He'll be happy with anything relative to now) However, the EFR is hands down far superior in this use case. You really, really, really, really do notice it over the Garrett or equivalent.
    • You are correct, the earlier the torque, the earlier things snap
    • Gents, it will be getting the MX5 Mania kit and the 2.5 will be staying where it is My query was about the 0.64 or the 0.86, whilst the 0.64 might spool a bit faster, would the 0.86 be better IRT EGT and mechanical sympathy, with only a small difference in spool And as I assume I won't need alot of boost to get to 200kw, probably around 10 psi, and with max rpm at 6500, would high EGT even really be a issue with a 0.64 I'm heading into MX5 Mania at the end of Jan to discuss the install, so any info is welcome prior to that Basically have a chat and book a time so they can throw on the turbo kit, and fit a oil cooler with a thermostat, drive in drive out of course  In other news: just finished cleaning the car inside and out, it's now all ready to get covered in bugs and dirt driving to Goulburn tomorrow to lunch,  and go for a stroll along woolondilly River with the daughter and her boy, and of course, visit my grandcats and my new grandpuppy
    • Sounds like it has an actual problem with mode select doors, or something.
    • Hope your all having a mean Xmas! If anyone happens to know any trick to using the insanely complex climate control system, I cannot get it to not be on dual zone no matter how many times I deselect it (will say it's not but both vents blow different temps). Also one side is always hot, one always cold 🤷
