I have an R32 GTST and i have a Trust intercooler (600x276x76mm) on order and am contemplating installing it myself. I dont have great mechanical knowledge (i.e. im not an engineer or mechanic) I was wondering if anyone has installed one of these themself (not necessarily Trust) and whether you would recommend i try it myself. Apparently this kit is all bolt on.... Your suggestions are most appreciated.

Additionally if anyone knows of where to get carbon fibre (non-vented) GTR bonnets - please let me know im desperate.

jap kits are magical... they really mean bolt-on when they say it... i had a blitz lm fmic on my r33 and only took it somewhere to get it fitted bcos i wasn't advised otherwise... my kit came with all the necessary brackets and fasteners... the only issue that arose was that some surgery was needed on the front bar to clear the fmic... other than that, it's as simple as removing the front bar and the stock cooler and any redundant piping and fitting the good stuff... if ur familiar with how to remove ur front bar, this job will take less than an hour not taking into account the surgery time... have fun!

HSVKLR: I fitted my FMIC myself also with a mate helping. Providing you get a good bolt on japanese or quality local made kit you wont have any dramas. The trickiest thing was trimming the front bar to suit, and cutting the 3 inch hole in the sidewall for the cooler plumbing, other than that, as mentioned just remove any piping etc thats no longer required and the new gear bolts into place.

PM MIC33R as he fitted an HKS kit to his R33 himself and documented the install with photos which might come in handy for you.

Hope this helps.

I have recently bought a Hybrid FMIC kit for my R33. It appears to come with everything required for installation. Has anyone had much experience fitting these kits?

I had my front bar off and it looks like in addition to the front bar requiring some cutting, you also need to cut the front bar reinforcement.

I don't really have the time to do this install at the moment so I was wondering if anyone knows of a good exhaust place(or anyone who will fit an FMIC for me) in Melbourne's South East to Eastern suburbs(preferably someone you have used before)? Camberwell, Box Hill, or Ringwood would be ideal.

Alternatively, has anyone documented an install of the hybrid kit on an R33? The pics in the "manual" aren't all that helpful, especially when it comes time to cutting the front bar reinforcement.

i have a rough guide on how to install coolers but it may not be like your set up but it might give you some ideas, i bought all the piping seperate so i went back to the original pipe work just click on the link below
