Smurf
Like the title suggests, tell me about your experience in non-Skyline performance cars. Mine are: Porsche 911 (1995 version) - The guy didn't really give it a boot full so I can't comment on the acceleration. The road holding was fantastic. Very little body roll, just seemed really planted. He scared me going around the first corner, though as it turned out, there was nothing to worry about. Honda S2000 - Whenever you think it is time to change gears you need to conciously tell yourself to hold on for another 2,000 revs. Stiff suspension comparied to my R33 GTST currently in stock form. Probably didn't accelerate as hard. The tail likes to slide, seems controllable. S15 200SX (stock) - Good mid range. Seems a bit breathless up high. Handled better than my car on narrower rubber (i've got 245's) Tell me your experience. I aspire to have a car such as a Ferrari (like alot of people) and just wonder if anyone has been impressed or dissappointed by these types of cars. LO_R33
VX II SS commodore - Handles very well for its size, brakes fkn awsome and its pretty damn quick...!!! VX II HSV clubsport r8 - Handles better then the SS, brakes very well again... and is very quick:P Also sounds awsome, nothing IMO is better then the sound of a v8. 2000 Honda civic VTi-R - Handles awsome, hardly any torque steer, brakes very well.. and performes soooo good for a 1.6L 4cyl... These cars are very under rated and the way petrol is at the moment, is probably going to be an option for me over my 33.. The rest are really R32 GTR's and stuff... sandyb
1990 Pulsar GTiR (Previous car) Awsome chuckability but nasty understeer when pushing hard. Very predictable handling. Awsome acceration under 120km/hr(180+ KW ,4WD, 1200Kg). Sandy. dojobi
When I was about 7 I was taken for a ride in some old Lamborghini. It seemed fast as hell at the time, but it probably wasn't. The best thing about it was the noise. I think my love of cars came from that day. Goon
I rode in some really new-at-the-time ferrari when i was about 7, been in a few 200sx, a nsx, another ferrari (same person at first time), the latest clubsport whatever it is which was absolutely shite when it came to handling. the quickest was a PRB. liber8_d
My uncle owns a shiteload of cars, including a 355 Ferrari and a white 911 Porsche that I know of in Australia. He also has a Lamboghini Diablo in New Zealand that he races, plus his WRXs and the Merc he bought for my aunty. Its a shame that he is my aunty's second husband and a creepy loner that I see maybe once or twice a year, and that I've never even sat in a single one of his cars. Other 'sports cars' I've been in are: Dad's ex-cop AUII XR8 which goes OK and handles OK for such a boat. Sister's VT SS went very similar to XR8, but not quite as good. Sister/bro in law's VU?VX? Clubsport, a bit faster than the XR8, but very good brakes. XR6 Turbo I almost shat my pants when the young sales guy boosted in second, my first turbo experience. NONE of these (pretty poor sportscars I know), even come close to coming on full boost in second in my GTR. Munna
2003 porche carrera converible - very nice car love the unique sounding engine. VX clubsport R8 manual - Mates car nice big cruiser pretty quick handles well for a big car but a handful on the limit. VXSS auto - with big exhaust and extractors I recon it went better than the R8. shit auto and again very heavy and easy to loose on the limit. BAXR8 ute auto - Nice car to drive very nice ride but I find the falcons handle funny not as dirict as the commodores. Didnt go as well as the clubby. BAXR6Tmanual - went ok about what I expected a little better than the XR8. Heavy clutch and gearbox again feels it weight in the handling department. no where near as nice to drive as my r33. Porche was the best by far. I would love a drive or a ride in a honda NSX and a Skyline GTR one day. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/84382-your-experience-in-non-skyline-sports-cars/#findComment-1528340 Share on other sites
Wink
2 x 180RWKW 180SXs - very fast but did not feel as stable as my R33 FTO GPX - not the best performance but handles as if on rails. Evo7 GTA - fastest car I've been in and the way boost kicks in is amazing. Handles superbly too. **JaR**
porche GT3, a guy who came to buy one of our properties gave me a ride in it about... 2 yrs ago, it was mad, he gave it a boot full to, i was impressed, i never really was a fan of porches but that changed my mind. mate of mine just got a supra tt, fairly standard at the moment, but it goes alright. VXSS, its got some power, handles like crap compared to the imports ive been in but. thats about all i can think of at the moment. Dee 33
First turbo car. 180awkw WRX: I thought this thing was the ultimate machine in the universe being it was the first turbo I'd ever been in or in fact, been near. I was however extremely drunk at the time with my crazy brother driving. CA18det 180sx auto: Meh. 2005 Monaro: Nice nice nice nice nice. Haven't been in it since my car was modified though so I can't compare. Sounded so sweet though. Very good brakes. Stock S15: Much better low end torque than the R33. Very linear power curve. Can't really feel boost snap on. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/84382-your-experience-in-non-skyline-sports-cars/#findComment-1528512 Share on other sites

mad34
MITSUBISHI GTO - my dad has too of them a 94 and 97. when they are running right they are fantastic. 4wd 4ws 3ltr twin turbo. Loads of fun. Really fast in standard trim. will plant you back in your seat !!! Too expensive to run/modify though worth it if you have money to burn Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/84382-your-experience-in-non-skyline-sports-cars/#findComment-1529665 Share on other sites
