6x9's On An R34

Does anyone know how to fit 6x9's on the rear shelf of an R34. I tried fitting these last night however found a long metal plate covering the stock speakers and also the tray doesn't seem to detach from the car. Also i don't know if i might need spacers for these speakers because of the small speaker provision. Any Input would be great.

yep sell the 6x9s and fit the 6.5" items. you will have to cut the rear shelf and that gets into the strut towers when you do affecting teh structural integrity of the car.
