WhatBrake
Hey guys i'm buying some rims off my mate, and i'm thinking i will probably need some adjustable camber arms to fit the rears in the guards, or could i get away lipping the rears? Also if anyone knows (Most of you) what the maximum width of rim that the factory guards can accomidate? This is baring in mind that the car will be lowered later. Anyone with knowledge or experience in this feel free to fill me in. SAMFISHER
Doesn't the four wheel drive have problems with different width wheels front to rear? They would fit OK (if the offset was spot on) but because of the 4WD, 17 x 8's all round would be ideal. I have mates with GTR's who have told me it will be more than sufficient as i assume too. Any further comments from someone who has doen this before on a GTS4, but also gaurds are same as a GTS-t obviously so if uv'e got 17 x 8'' s and 17 x 9'' s tell me what you had to do. Quite sure will def have to lip the rear gaurds, but will I have to get adjustable rear camber arms so i can get the rear rims under? totoro
well the guards will accomodate 17x8 at front and 17x9 at rear but the important thing is also the offset as it determines how far the wheel will sit from the hub. as a reference best fitting on R32 GTSt is 17x8 +28 and 17x9 +35 as it is on my car and is pretty much on the edge. there is another thread about this in the suspension tech section. hope this helps masahiro Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/84645-17-x-8s-front-17-x-9s-back/#findComment-1543360 Share on other sites

Although the rims have never been on his car as they arnt big enough to accomidate his new large discs etc. Anyways any further comments are welcome. Rezz
I've got 17x8J +35 on the front of the R32, and if anything the rim sits just inside the fender... actually I've thought about putting 5mm spacers (instead of the 3mm ones that are on there now) to make them stick out a bit more... On the rear I've got 17x9J +32, and the rim is FLUSH with the rear guards. I got a 245/40 tire on that and they curve in a bit (stretched look) so it looks ok. JH32
I have an R32 GTS4 and with 17x8 with 255 rubber the rims wouldn't have fit inside the guards. The offset was GTR offset though. WhatBrake
Cheers guys, i will most prob have either 235's or 245's all round. Getting the rear gaurds lipped tomorrow, so fingers crossed everything just turns out ok when i put the rims on a bit later. Again any new further info is welcome. Also while i'm typing i think my AFM is playing up a bit. Quite sure it's the wires going into the connection to the AFM that is the problem. It's causing the car to surge forward with power then cut out and surge again when driving (especially in 3rd), but once the bonnet is popped and the wires going into the AFM are jiggled around a bit it's fine again. So anyone who has had the same problem let me know, just to put my mind at ease rather than anything else.
