Was just wondering how fast an R34 non-turbo with auto transmission is? Im not too fussed about turbos, but if the car is too slow (for my liking) without one, then I'll just have to stick with turbos.

Oh and Im referring to the coupe, the sedan is disgustingly ugly. And while I could learn to drive manual if I wanted to since Im only buying a car at the end of the year, its just one more distraction to have to put up with and I might not be the only one driving it.

And one more thing, how much space is there for rear passengers? I don't really care if they are comfortable or not, so long as they can fit without making me really uncomfortable when driving (Im 5'11").

whereabouts are you located, I have 1 in brisbane you can test drive ,2001 147kw Neo..goes well

Had a GTT for about 3 months now, and here's my comment on the rear space - USELESS!!! Unless of course you plan to just keep your shopping or pet in there, or if you have tiny Asian friends who are usually only 5 foot tall :) (I'm Asian, I'm allowed to say this :()

Nah seriously, if you are wanting to fit more than 2 into a Skyline, get the sedan!

Im in Sydney. Im sure there are plenty of places that sell Skylines here, but Im not sure how kindly they would take to someone who isn't ready to buy yet.

Well, I definitely wouldn't let any tall people in the back. And I don't think a Skyline would be as bad for rear space as some other coupes out there (like the 200SX or 300ZX for example) because it has a comparitively large wheelbase.

I guess the only way to really know is to go check one out, but Ive never done this before so I don't know if the sellers would tell me to get lost unless I was serious about buying.

If they tell you to get lost just because you want to look and potentially buy, then tell them to GET f**kED!

Which part of Sydney are you in? Close to the North? Check out www.northshoreprestige.com.au and see if you like anything from there!

bwahaha  Well, I'm just under 5'8 an some of mah fellow asian friends are taller than I am.

Sometimes they hit their head on the rear windscreen when I accelerate too hard. R33 though, don't know the difference in rear seat between r34-r33

I find that my passengers who are unlucky enough to sit in the back usually hit their heads on the back pillar between the door glass and the back windscreen?

On the R34 they are just thick enough so any slight head movement is met with solid plastic :)

I'm lucky, I'm only 5'6 or so, not too bothered about the lack of space. All you tall giants, I pity you - now you see why they said there are advantages to being short? :(

Thanks for that. I live in Western Sydney, but this looks like a good place to buy from.

And yes they do have something I like. This is the sort of thing I was after:

Non turbo coupe with the flip up tv screen.

And this one looks good too:

Excellent... I saw that one at the place a few weeks after mine was delivered! The colour made me jealous :)

Good luck with the purchase.

Not that it will help much or at all :), but just say Stan recommended you to look at the cars there... even if there is no discount, they'll offer the best service to you :)

they arent that small

ive had a full car many times.. ive had ppl as tall as 6' in the back (r32 gtst and r33 gtst) and they fit fine..

both are quite spacious for coupes.. look at a supra or an fto.. no chance of even a little 5' person fitting tehre

Ok, well I got the answers I was looking for.

Autospeed has an article on the R34 but you have to register to be able to see it. The back seat can "fit" people, but not comfortably. As if they would care anyway when they are in a Skyline.

The turbo auto does mid to high 7s from 0-100kmh (with 2 people on board), so I don't have high hopes for the non turbo. So that settles it, I'll just have to get a turbo model.

Its going to be frustrating though waiting another 4 months to buy one. At least it will be worth it in the end.

I had 5 people in my r34 2 door once including me. It wasn't the worse thing in the world. The person in the rear middle seat had to duck there head otherwise they would hit the roof. And myself and the passanger next to me had to have our seats a fair ways fowards so they had some leg room.

Which made it uncomfortable driving being so close the pedals and wheel.

In other words it can be done. And when your car is full of chicks it can be quite injoyable.
