Committee has decided to turn this into an Open cruise due to permissions issues with out members section.

For anyone that is not a member. There will be no id|iotic behaviour tolerated in any way, shape or form.

This is not like most other clubs "cruises"

NO burnouts and "siiik" drifting means just that.

Macedon Cruise

Meet: Western Ring Road, Mobil Service Station. Outbound from the City.

Time: 10am, depart 10.30am, there will be no waiting even if people ring me.

Route: Meeting @ the Servo, then heading out to Blackwood and along to Trentham.

Then to Dalesford and then Malmsbury for some lunch... yes this is where those awesome pies are :D

After that we'll take a nice scenic route to the Granite Hills Winery where there will be some wine for sale by the owners ;)

Last year a number of people purchased wine from here and reports are that it was worth it.

So i would reccomend bringing some extra $$$ to grab a few bottles

After that stop and some pics, back towards Macedon and the surrounding areas.

Finishing up @ the BP Servo across the road from Calder Park raceway

Should be a great day as always.

See you all there

-ash

I havn't been to that many oragnised cruise by SAU VIC but i belived that every cruise that is covered by CAM, comittees do inform Mrofficer so we don't have to call our artornies.

We are well organised club, there is no need to hide or anything.

no need to hide, but also no need to draw undue attention.

i would certainly prefer to have everyone prepared to take responsibility for their actions rather than have police checking us over.

should be a good day :)

This was great last year, and will be better this year!

This is only a SAU forum and Skyline owners cruise, no outsiders. ie: Open to all SAU forum users and Skylines owners, not just SAU VIC members.

See ya all there!

Kym if you are going to be that -ve about the cruise and fellow Skyline owners, best stay home. Our previous cruises have been very well behaved, unlike other clubs, we have a very good reputation.

This will be your first SAU VIC cruise, so come along and reserve your judgement till after the cruise.

    • I have a VALCON if anyone wants it, I have no idea why you'd want to have VVT specifically broken out of the ECU as opposed to running it off the FCON/whatever standalone you have.
    • Hi Yes we're a bit optimistic we might get something out of sealing up the two pipes of the external wastegate and reactivating the stock one. I believe the orginal stock wastegate was tack welded shut. It doesn't budge and visually looks closed and sealed. The car has noticeably more lag so it could be at least part of the problem, maybe all. It's definately one of the key changes made since last tune. And it's one that's more difficult to fully understand and measure, not like for instance timing or cylinder compression.  Thanks for that feedback, we'll let you know how this progresses. Fingers crossed.   Regards Rob
    • Transplanting the vvt from a 25neo into an rb26?
    • Well, I was going to say, "Is the wastegate set up so that it is not leaking?" That's actually a different thing to what you're asking about. In theory, if you have allowed the two halves of the manifold to commmunicate (more than the stock manifold does - which is at least a little bit) then the negative effect should be apparent in delayed spool, not in outrigth power. OK, maybe just maybe, a badly set up twin scroll wastegate "crosstalk" might kill the top end, although it's hard to see how. What is happening with the original wastegate in the turbo? is it sealed off properly. If it's left flapping in the breeze, it will f**k everything up. If it is still there, and can be returned to service, I'd be capping off the external (presuming the two halves can and will be isolated from each other after doing so) and have a go with just the stock wastegate. I have an internal wastegate in my highflowed rear housing. The bigger opening and flapper should be fine to >250 rwkW. So there's not exactly a pressing reason to have the external. Done right, an external will give better results. Done wrong, it might just be possible to have worse results. Report back!
