Hey guys,

I thought i would try here in the turbo section, I currently have an Rb20E R33 skyline, but i want to swap the engine to an Rb20det (no not a 25det so dont suggest it).

I've made my mind up that this is the easier swap for the car, as its all bolt in bolt out... and i wouldnt have to engineer it or upgrade the brakes.

However i have a problem...

These are a copy of the rb20e ecu pin outs and the rb20det ecu pin outs:

http://www.skyline-racing-tech.com/site/pi...es/sheet005.htm

Now when i swap the engine and the engine loom... does this change these pin outs to the one i need?

If they dont, how do i go about getting the loom to match whats on the ecu as i will be going from an rb20e ecu to an rb20det..

If it comes down to it and i cant just swap looms over and i need an auto electrician to rewire it would it cost much? and would it take them very long... more as less is this a big problem?

Any help is appreciated.

Dayne

You will need the ecu for the motor you decide to put in....

As the fuel and ignigtion maps will be different between turbo and non-turbo....

Just a susgestion.... You are best off selling it and buying a turbo 32/33 cause without brakes you are gambling with your car and life....

Plus the hassle of adapting a motor to a car that is different that factory.

Yeah, but the cars engine mounts etc are perfect for a Rb20det... theyre exact same as what is there, it'll be drop in drop out.. plus i know the history off my car, where its been.. and more importantly i've got it how i want it...

Sell it and get turbo car, the turbo car has alot more other goodies that just the turbo, better brakes, fuel system, exhaust, chassis tuning, gear box, and the most important and most underated is heat shielding in all the right places, beside there are a host of other things I haven't mentioned.
