I recently bought one of the same model here in NZ. I see in your dash photo the TV is working. Was this a jap import?, It looks like it from the dash photo. Did you guys do anything to get it to play PAL instead of NTSC?

The TV in the dash is watching a Japanese TV show, while still in the caryard in Japan.

Yep, dark is right. You will need to convert it to NTSC.
