Awesome - Got a dyno done on my car and the AFR stays at like 14ish from 1k rpm to 6k rpm

So been taking it easy and saving for a fuel pump but it's hard when you just get your annual insurance bill... anyway I think I might go for this tomei pump too looks/sounds better then the others I have heard about.

Well I installed mine today, all went easy except the big black ring was alitte tough to get back on so put alittle rubber grease on the thread and it glided on much easier.

The NISMO pump is near Identical to this one and is just as easy to fit.

yes easy to fit.. so I thought.. I can hear the pump (nismo) priming (or trying to) but it's bloody loud and doesn't sound right, sounds far to high pitched or something. Car doesn't start, so I assume it's not feeding fuel, but when I disconnected the hoses again after a little while the line was full of fuel. Disconnecting the line going back to the pump released a lot of air (from the tank I think).

Any one have any ideas? Could I just have the hoses connected the wrong way around or something? If that even matters.

Just installed mine last night, I had no new clamps I also had an extra ground wire for the r34 pump anyone have that? Didnt plug into anything so no idea wtf I had it.

Well i installed my walbro today (from sliding performance) anyway had a bit of trouble with the fuel pump isolator rubber that goes on the bottom, its to small to hold the pump in place on the standard bracket, so i modified the standard one by cutting it to fit the fuel pump as best i could, it sits slightly adjar bcoz of the filter sock that comes with this pump doesnt go down where the standard one goes it goes out to the side instead. i just want to know with this not being as deep as the standard one will i have trouble with fuel pick up etc?

also i zip tied the pump into place to stop it from moving. so it shouldnt slip off the bracket at all now. sounds a bit dodgey but we made sure it was sitting as close to stock as possible.

other then these problems it was all pretty straight forward.

id like to hear a few more story's of people who have installed walbro pumps to see if they had any problems with there installs?

I did the walbro pump install, mine fitted fine with the smaller rubber bottom it came with. And the factory filter fits onto the walbro pump so you don't have fuel pick up problems when running low on gas. I found the walbro pump to be a very easy replacement.

the small rubber bottom i got doesnt fit tight like the standard one, the half round shape it fits into wasnt the same size on mine. so i just modified the standard one, seems to work just as good anyway, had no problems with it. pumps fine.

I installed Walbro, just had a good look at how std pump sat on bracket and then put Walbro in same place (slightly slower on bracket) using the rubber/foam sleeve it came with and 2 x steel threaded clamps (big hose clamps), used the filter sock from the std pump I think.

Changed it with fuel guage needle on empty line - started fine (on 2nd key turn) and hasn't missed a beat since, and I like to run to fuel light. (Yep change fuel filters regularly)

You can hear the pump if you listen for it and can hear the pitch change from idle voltage to on throttle voltage, certainly not an isue though, nice to know it's working.

FWIW: Nowhere near as loud as Bosch GTR pump in 200SX.

(If you use a Walbro they are very sensitive to voltage vs flow rate) there is a graph somwhere about fuel pump comparison for a Supra (US site), google it.

After reading the whole thread from page 1 to page 3, i can assume that the Nismo Fuel pump (which is identical to the Tomei one) WILL work with the stock Fuel regulator AND Stock injectors AND i do not need to install the included pressure valve .
