Quick question regarding Injectors.

Will probably upgrade my injectors and AFM in good time (ie when I do some turbo work), but what should I be buying? Side feed injectors, or are they top feed?

Car is a series 1 1997 Nissan Stagea rb25det.....

Power output wanted is around 180kw at the 4wheels, so what size injectors would be the way to go? 550cc?

Cheers for your information in advance,

Brendan :)

Hi Brendan, S1 Stagea has 370 cc side feed high impedance (13 ohms) injectors, same as R33GTST, so very common. In a 6 cylinder engine 370 cc's = 370 bhp = 276 kw - 70 kw for losses = 206 4wkw. That's at standard fuel pressure (36-38 psi). We just finished tuning an R33GTST that made 225 rwkw on standard injectors with a small increase in fuel pressure (45 psi). We are far from the only ones, Reflex (tuned by Chasers) made 231 rwkw wiht standard injectors and an increase in fuel pressure via a Nismo FPR (~$150 from Nengun).

The next step up in injectors is the S15 JDM manual, they are 444 cc's. In a 6 cylinder engine 444 cc's = 444 bhp = 331 kw - 70 kw for losses = 261 4wkw.

After that you are looking at something like Sard 550 cc's (part #63508). In a 6 cylinder engine 550 cc's = 550 bhp = 410 kw - 70 kw for losses = 340 4wkw. They are available from Nengun for around $700 delivered (watch out for duty and GST though).

:) cheers :)

Cheers SK,

Knew you'd state the facts. Thanks for that.

Talked to Graham West Workshops again, and they did recommend for the sake of being on the safe side of things, to use the Z32 AFM and larger injectors when doing my next step of power mods.

I will probably buy a AFM and 550cc sized injectors (all off ebay, and not a huge cost in essence), in around 9months time or so, unless I see a great ebay deal.

Thank you for pointing out that they are side feed and not top feed, GWW was sure they were side feed but suggested I put up a post and ask the question or come by the shop and relook & confirm.

Next buy though will be a MV Automatics kit and oil 'trans cooler......

Cheers,

Brendan B)

No problems Brendan, ours should be well and truly finished by then. You can then have confidence either way.

:) cheers :)
