So how strong are GTR rods?

Is it worth the expense of using aftermarket conrods if your keeping to 8000rpm and less than 300rwkw. Can the stockers with linishing and balancing do the job RELIABLY.

Also what experience do people have with oil surge on the racetrack, i am reluctant to start runing slicks as i suspect RB20DETs already suffer from this on road rubber when thrashed around circuits for 20mins at a time.

Any thoughts are appreciated

gtr rod should be ok to 8k all day 8500 is very common on high hp gtrs using stock rods are you gettign the crank to go with them. lastly gtrs have a starvation problem I ahvent heard of similar problems with rb 20 equipped cars.

oil cooler would help as well and possible lower temp thermostat and bigger radiator but yu probably know that any way

cheers

Roy I've had a GTR with Stock internals and Bolt on upgrades producing over 300rwkw, so the RB26 Rods are up to the job, when searching for Big HP;tuning is extreamly important to the equation of reliability.

Hell even RB25 Rods are up to the task, there are many RB25's producing in excess of 300rwkw with stock rods. My GTST is still going strong with many interstate trips and hard trackwork under its belt.
