Hi All,

While mucking around in the engine bay I managed to create a short circuit and burnt out a fuse.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me where the main 75A fuse should be?? The main 75A fuse location in the engine bay relay/fuse box is empty.

There's a Y connection off the positive terminal of the battery - a portion of this started smoking and seems to have burnt out. could this have been the main fuse??

cheers

One of the links from the positive is a "fusible link" which I think is what you are describing. Its about 10cm long and is designed to die just like a fuse would. It has a kinda grey fabric covering over it.

yep, that's exactly what i was trying to describe. Under that fibreglass tubing there's pretty much nothing left... So not sure what to replace it with!

Anyone know what this fusable link is rated at and where to find a replacement??

cheers

  • 3 years later...

Does anyone know what is connected to the "MAIN" fuse ? I swapped a RB25 in my R32 and even when I remove the key, something is still taking power. I removed the "MAIN" fuse and it stops.
