I'm paying around $1700 p/a for full comp from just car for my baby, an 93 gts-t with exhaust, pod & bov. Oh and its also insured for the full amount I paid which is good.

im 19, no accidents or claims etc. just cars wants $2200 for a 96 series 2 GTS-T with simple mods like exhaust etc...agreed value of like $18k

im 18, had third party fire and theft with just cars on my car

( R33 with light mods... pod, exahust etc ), and that cost me like... $650, recently upgraded to full comp and its costin me $2,200 only coz i have an accident claim ( that wasnt my fault.. long story )

but its worth it.

Just Cars - Rating 1

23yo male

$1060 per year.

Insured for $19,000 incl mods (18's, bov, bodykit, exhaust, stereo, momo wheel, turbo timer, pod, strut brace blah blah).

i realy hate these threads :P

22... $3200/yr... :(

btw everyone, remember if you got illegal mods like a boost controller or a bov and you have an accident just cars wont pay you out a cent.

True?? I'm going to read up my policy on that one. Seems stupid if they're willing to list it as a mod and not cover you.

When i took out my policy they said that they wont cover you if you FAIL to notify them of mods (eg: bov, turbo, suspension etc..). As long as you keep them updated it should be fine.

No the mods that are on the car also have to be legal, (ie your bov can't vent to atmo etc). I have a fried who works for an assesor, and basically he said that they're pretty lacked about basic mods like that, its illegal ones like: Having no cat, or mods which are illegal and downright dangerous like cut springs, or putting your rolling diametre out by 4 cm's without recalibrating your speedo, that they are concerned about.

I was also under that impression.. but i called them up to double check (i was having this same discussion with someone a few weeks ago)

they say they will cover you... but if you read there terms and conditions it ses

if you have anything illegal fitted to your car you will not be covered.

I told them about my safc/boost controller and they charged me the extra $40 or $50..... then when i asked them if im covered they said its my responsibility to make sure nothing illegal is fitted to the car... they clearly said 'no you wont be covered'

its an insurance company... there going to be looking for any excuse not to pay you..... Maybe its abit more strict in victoria or something... but i reckon all you guys should ring up and double check, cause there terms and conditions policy overrule your policy.

yeah but all they need is 1 little excuse not to pay you... lets say you have an illegal bov...

option a) they can be nice and pay you out evan if though they dont legaly have to

option B) they can stick to there terms and conditions and pay you nothing :P
