just wonderin how much boost these turbos are capable of before the wheel goes tinkling down the exhaust? and personally how much boost do you run?

i run ~15psi

I ran 15 and 16 towards the end of the rb20det.

Some have had them go at 11psi.. It really comes down to luck of the draw and tuning.

EGT is the killer. i.e track work.

Run the car slightly richer and dial in more ignition timing, this lowers egt and helps the turbo hold together.

lol.. and i wondered why he had a good second or two on me at QR today.. It was however 20deg and raining (minimum EGT you're going to get in qld, ha)

salad: Just remember as well that raising the boost too much higher without adjusting the mixtures to suit is asking for engine trouble, rather than turbo trouble. So don't just wind it up to 15 on the stock ecu thinking it will all be ok.. But maybe you know that B)

i tried in vain to get my turbo to drop the rear wheel, i wound 2.2 bar into it with my AVCR. it held together and was running 25psi for about 5 months before i up graded. it had a funny wine to it in the end but still worked fine.

im running 12psi on a microtech ltx8, running a little rich just to be sure.. think i will try running 14psi as it was dynoed and tuned for 14, but put back to 12

so a little more power will be there

what im lookin for in the turbo is really good response. good for drifting, and im kinda on a budget aswell... so yeah, thats why i thought t3/t4 or 2530

10kw if your lucky.

On the dyno I run on the rb20dets usually make 170rwkw on 14psi with a tuned ecu.

160kw with 12psi.
