totally agree. Where is the :werd: emoticon damnit!

Drive the car around unmodded mate. You will dead set kill yourself

As for tuning, check the sticky thread at the top of this section.

It contains all the info you need. No need to post about this.

Thanks

I agree with the guys here!

But if you are really really really really really really really really desperate try Amberly.

But seriously as the guys before me said keep your car standard as possible and gain some experience on the road. We don’t want to hear another news report of another young guy wrapping himself around a pole.

I know you are probably thinking that we are being very negative but understand, the last thing we want to hear is that one of our members has become a statistic.

hey simon how r ya man, its good to see that ur into ur skylines, but i dont reccomend driving it around yet mate, get ur olds to drive it to get tuned. i only take my car to chasers for tuning and mods, that is far away for u. i know aplace in cranbourne which is quiet good, its called G&D performence tuning in cranboune, they have done quiet a bit of work on jap cars.

im also in cranboure, maybe sometime when u get ur license we should go for a cruise some time. good luck with ur tune.

besides all the great points everyone else has said above :(

if you drive the car then mod it slowly... you'll probably get more satisfaction out of it cause each new mod adds new power to the car. So after each mod its like driving a new car kinda...

Thats how it is for me anyways :)

hey yeah... uagghh when did i say i was driving by myself?? right! lol with my old girl in the passenger seat! lol bobby gill i was guna ring un gnd but they would have to have the hand controller etc i dont know weather they would or not..... ive probly seen u round too lol i remember this one guy when i was at bp pull up and drop a burn out next to me in a black 32 i was like yerh kool man then he was watching me to see if i did some thing stupid on the way out i think he was a bit upset bcoz there was a L plater driving the same car as him lol

i hope it wasnt a SAU member!!!! tsk tsk

if you dont have the hand controller it makes it a lot harder. youll have to find out what version / model of powerfc you have as you have to match up the hand controller version, they aren't all the same. the newer powerfc hand controllers most likely wont work if its a slightly older powerfc. did u buy it new or second hand recently? how long ago? do u have the serial number

all new powerfc's come with hand controller included in the price. unless the supplier is dodgy and seperating it and charging more money. $1000 AU delivered should get you powerfc and hand controller in one pack

oh hang on rb25det neo or rb20det ? based on name i thought rb25det then i saw pic which is rb20det, so therefore ap engineeering

ok that makes sense now. ok youll need to find out what model powerfc then look at this matrix to work out what model hand controller will work

my advice would be just to get the hand controller

will make your life a lot easier

my hand controller for example wont work as it wont be suitable

unless of course the new ap engineer models suit same hand controller as the older ap engineering models. what suburb you in ?

lol, that woudfnt of been me ripping a burnout simon, i have a gtr gunmetal grey, with a hokue racing sticker on the back window, no badging as well. but yehmate give g&d a go, maybe they can source out a hand controler if u speak to there tuner, im sure he can get one from some where, if u want try casey automotive, they just did some work on amtes r32 with a full rb25 rebuild and turbo, u can try them.

    • Yep, I like that. The tags are only on the first post of a thread and we don't get huge numbers of new threads. Also, I plan to add some more report types and we could have a member report type like 'review tags' then members could flag if they thought a topic wasn't tagged correctly.  No way man, I dig the input. Thanks!
    • It's a valid thought. There's not exactly that functionality already (when creating a thread) - that's where the OP can use/create any tag they want. We'd have to come up with a way for the user to request their tags get reviewed or something. Otherwise the mods would have to review every new post's tags (for those that have them, anyway). There's kind of that functionality already exists to some extent, post facto of starting the thread, where the OP or any other user could report the post to admins, and request that tags get reviewed. We could do this already, and any user could already have made such a request. To make it a part of the forum proper, it would require an initial and an ongoing education programme, so that people know that it's a thing. OP based tagging/request for review would also require at least some (probably most) of the user base to be told that it's a thing they can do. Both of these things probably wouldn't spread too far and/or get used very much. If it was the standard approach on a lot of different sites, then it might do, because people would be used to it. Prank's approach to this differs from my original thought, by leaning into tagging. Which is fine - it's possibly better than what I originally suggested. In fact, I just went to the R32 GTR wiring diagram thread and added tags, including "Library". That's probably a good way to use tags and the idea of a library. We just have to drag together an (organised!) index of threads or posts that have that tag. I have yet to do any of my own follow up by pursuing worthy threads and posts and reporting/marking/tagging them for the library, such as the @Sydneykid stuff I was talking about, and possibly any amount of @Lithium 's and others' posts. At least if I tag them Library, we'll have a start.   Back to @Wazmond's idea as it relates to @PranK's, we might have some sort of a list of tags that are already used to scrape for this library. I'm not entirely sure how that would be presented or used, particularly if it got long. But it's yet another idea!   cheers
    • Just a thought, but instead of restricting, is it possible to do like an "up for review" kind of thing? Where say someone who's not an admin/mod tags, it would require approval for it to actually tag? User posts with a 'tag' > Admin/Mod Reviews > Approves tag > Tag now exists kinda thing? Just came across this thread so Im not too sure if Im straying off topic or not but forgive me if i am...
    • Yes, a plan for non-action is always my first sort of plan! I'm happy to see what falls out of invision's update. I had been having some thoughts on what to do with this the other day and they all seem to have fled my memory, after various solar panel induced traumas, squeaking suspension sphericals, etc etc, over the last little bit. I'll try and recall what I had in mind and make sure that I put it into print in some form before the Alzheimer's strikes again.
    • The ability to have both a 5500 stall for launching, and a regular lockup for every other scenario is pretty sweet. Does it actually work well like that though in the real world? Would it hold up to track use and otherwise you'd never know you had a stall converter in it? If so, that's awesome
