Have been eyeing off a 'unichip' for the 33t (air + exhaust done).

However, is there a reason why I could not put in an 'emanage' box instead (and possibly the other bits later on)? It would seem to be a considerably cheaper option... too good to be true? I am not after massive power or tunablity, just a bit more zing.

Why a 'chiptorque' over a 'unichip' over an 'emanage'? Anyone got info/ideas?

nah thats fine... im not scared of it i just cant understand why more ppl dont use it.

the package im thinking of getting is $650 delivered from Japan

so did u get much of a gain ed?

you can use greddy's MAP sensor so once your AFM maxes out, the emanage takes over using the MAP sensor....not sure if unichip does that...

Also if you buy the e01 boost controller you can tune emanage via the e-01's screen and you can then data-log, save maps etc onto SD cards via the e-01.

I will be going this path :D

So there is no boost control function (even just a basic set and forget type) on the emanage box without going to the hand controller and screen?

+ 1 for the emanage on MAP and AFM

+ 1 for the unichip on the boost control

What about number of points for mapping? Both about the same?

ed,

I have heard some people grumbling about the emanage being a new product....not properly sorted yet......give em a couple of years...

You are obviously happy with yours, what could they change and upgrade anyway? Have you had any problems at all? What about installers and tuners, any blank looks when you fronted up (or was install and tune the same mob)?

I don't have a boost controller in my car, but then again, it's a stock turbo with full exhaust and stock cooler...

I'm peaking at JUST under 9psi...nothing to worry about there...

For the people who say give it a few years, they obviously don't know how much the japs test things before releasing on the market. There are a few things wrong with the emanage, but this is more of a document error, like the manual does not mention what the grey wire is....it's for TPS...

It was install and tune at the same place....although I AM thinking about going to a different place with my ignition harness install.
