Minor Rust

Hey all ive noticed some minor rust on my car. I want to treat it. I know there are a lot of products on the market I thought I would run it by you smart fellas before i go buying stuff for the fell of it

depends on the amount of rust & where it is. if its just surface rust it can be sanded back and repainted. if the rust is right through the metal it will need to be cut out & new metal welded in

yeh well i had it checked out by a mechanic and said its surface rust but i forgot to ask how to deal with it.

I tend to use just standard rust killer from the hardware store. Seems to work pretty well.

First sand it to get all the rough/obvious stuff off.. then apply the rust killer (use a smallish brush or something).. then coat in primer. Then spray over or use touch up paint.
