Well, thermal fan for engine is a good idea, i had it before. Basicly less stress for the water pump, engine make a bit more power but you definately NEED SHROUD for air to concentrate in a particula area.

There is a down side to it, if the switch/relay or whatever that trigger the fan to come on fail to work, you know the result. I havn't seen a reliable controller for awhile.

One thing i just didn't understand was that i had a brand new thermal switch from Nissan and that day when my car heat up to 97c it still didn't trigger my aircon fan where it should.

I've seen EL Falcon on a R34GTR before, this guy is a genius ( YLWGTR ), he even had a circuit board made up to control the fan.

That it is west.

I have ran 2 x 12" davis thermo's. Mine too struggled and often had the overheat fan turning on.

I've since gone back to the clutch type and have no issues with overheating. I do fear the clutch fan i am running is on its way out though.

I did notice a slight decrease in fuel economy and I swear it doesn't feel as punchy at the tip of the accelerator.

I will be going thermo's again as summer approaches.

This time round I will be buying a set of bran spankin new aftermarket EL Falcon twin thermo's.

They are the perfect size in all aspects for the R32 radiator, very very slim and are $190 new.

Thats exactly what ive got i think (or maybe EF Falcon - i dunno), but im having issues with clearance between the thermos and the power steering pump pulley. They're apparently much better than the Davies Craig thermos due to the greater pitch of the blades, but im having to modify the shrouds significantly in order to bring the fans closer to the radiator and clear the pulley. Theyre the perfect height and width though, and i got mine for $100 from a wrecker. Anyone else had these clearance issues?

check our set-up out today shaun and see what ya think

When my water pump started leaking ,I replaced it with a GTR pump[ may be a N1 not sure] . This brought my temp gauge from sitting about 1/2 way to somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2. Sits there all the time. summer and winter. Also the air con fan starting with the air con keeps things cooler. Only touble is it takes along time down the snow to warm up
