From memory

R34 GTR is the standard GTR (base)

R34 GTR V-Spec has carbon fibre undertray

R34 GTR V-Spec II probably same as V-Spec 1 but with some other features

R34 GTR V-spec N1 has different turbos

R34 GTR Nür-Spec dunno, nurburgring edition???

R34 GTR M-Spec tuned by mines i think

R34 GTR M-Spec Nür same as the above but with extra stuff

R34 GTR Z-Tune 500PS beast tuned by nismo

Please correct me if i made any mistakes

Cheers

The GTR is the base model while the GTR and V-Spec were being made most cars came out of the factory as V-Specs.

V-Spec has added fruit such as:

- Carbon fibre rear underbody tray

- Intercooler intake temp sensor

- Exhaust temp sensor

- Upgraded MFD to show data for these two extra sensors

- Slightly different tacho (cant remember how exactly)

- Active rear diff (maybe on all R34 GTRs?)

- Faster ATTESSA computer (maybe on all R34 GTRs?)

The V-Spec II has all of the above plus:

- Carbon fibre bonnet

- Different rear brakes (very slightly different apparently)

- Black cloth seats (as opposed to grey in the earlier models)

- Aluminium pedal set

- Aluminium map pocket

- Aluminium faced CD player

- Firmer suspension (probably not 100% on this)

- Different radiator (plastic topped)

- Larger rear Nissan badge

- Updated MFD with extra functions such as a lap counter and possible data logging?

- Different front bar?

- Probably more

The M-Spec is basically a V-Spec II except for the following:

- Aluminium bonnet (same as V-Spec) with carbon bonnet option

- Different paint options

- Improved ride quality due to softer suspension

- Black Leather seats, hand stitched, heated

- a few other things that wrxhoon could probably add - I've compared my V-Spec to his M-Spec before but im sure im missing some bits

The Nur cars are different again.

The Z-Tune is nothing really to do with R34 GTR models.

Built by Nismo

All out ball tearer :(

That's the best I can come up with at this hour of the morning

Sewid pretty much summed it up .

A couple of points though .

V-spec ( series I ) has harder suspenssion than base r34 gtr but in the series II ( v-specII ) its harder still .

I believe the M-spec ( only comes in series II , from may 01 onwards ) has the same or similar suspention to V-sec sreies I . Its hardly soft i can tell you that and its harder that normal 34 gtr .

Tacho is as W20GT said , ATTESSA pro on all v-specs .

As Gengis said M-spec has nothing to do with Mines .

Front defuser comes on all v-specs , m-spec + nurs

The bigger brakes come on all series II cars

Front bars are all the same to my knowledge .

Another thing is the M-specs are 20 kg heavier ( both standard and nur )

M-specs come with a larger battery with the big posts .

I cant remember if there is anytning other than that or other than its been said above .

The brakes are the same on all 33 and 34 gtr's. except for colour of course. even throughout the variants. if you are talking about the F50 calipers, that is a nismo item and not standard. the early model 34's ie jan 99 until oct 2000 had rubber pedals and not the fancy metal ones. they also only had the amber side and front bumper blinker. they had the seat belt extender too. scrapped in the later models. the early model mirror adjustor switch is different to the later models. the trimming under the rear boot is was scrapped in the later models. and the rear wiper motor cover was also scrapped. the space saver was different between early and late, and the top tanks of the radiators were different. aluminium on the early and plastic on the later. the nissan ring on the nissan badge (on the boot) were different on the later model (thicker) and i think only the early models had the handle you hold onto above the window (help! lemme out! straps?) thats about it i think. oh and only the nur editions were offered in millenium jade. apart from the differences that sw20 mentioned also came out with a 300km speedo.

The brakes are the same on all 33 and 34 gtr's. except for colour of course. even throughout the variants. .

the trimming under the rear boot is was scrapped in the later models. and the rear wiper motor cover was also scrapped.

Not so the series II 34's have slightly bigger ( about 20mm bigger) rear rotors and slightly thicker too , the calipers are the same though.

Not so the boot trim is still there on the series II , however most sII that i have seen dont have the wiper motor cover but i did see 2 in japan that had it and they were both early S II , late 2000 mods .

You are correct that they have clear front and side indicators though .

All models have the handle above the window .

  • 2 years later...

I think this is the right order...

GTR - Standard GTR

GTR V-Spec - Suspension upgrades / updated ATTESA E-TS

GTR V-Spec II - Suspension upgrades / updated ATTESA E-TS / afew things revised

GTR V-Spec II N1 - As of above with upgraded turbos

GTR V-Spec II Nur - As of above, Nur short for Nürburgring / The N-Ring, famous track in Germany (I read that it was to comemorate the GTR being the fastest production car at that time... I think only in Japan... I gota read the mag I bought again, awhile back.)

GTR M-Spec Nur - As of above with upgraded turbos / leather seats (heated, I think) with gold trimings / softer suspension / champagne gold body colour (I read the "M" stood for Men, so Men Spec because it had a softer suspension system and was more a luxury car then racer... For Men.. ppfffftttt LOL)

GTR V-Spec II S1 (S-Tune) - Upgraded with Nismo parts / internal upgrades

GTR V-Spec II S2 (S-Tune) - Upgraded with Nismo parts / internal upgrades / tune for higher power

GTR V-Spec II R1 (R-Tune) - Upgraded with Nismo parts / internal upgrades / tune for higher power / Race Spec engine

GTR V-Spec II Nismo Z-Tune - Upgraded with Nismo parts / internal upgrades / tune for higher power / Race Spec engine / ULTIMATE Street car

GTR JGTC (Japanese Grand Touring Car)

I think thats how it goes with all the explanations... Someone correct me if I have missed something / anything...

Edited by (00)SKYLINE(00)

its M-spec Nur and V-spec II Nur not V-spec II M1 Nur

also the Nismo models you have listed can be based on any 34 GTR not just v-spec II 's and the limited N1's models were based on both v-spec and v-spec II models

I think the nismo models go

Sports Resetting

S-Tune

R-Tune

Z-Tune

These are cars that customers bring in to the nismo factory and they can pick what package they want and nismo will ad the parts from the nismo catalog other then of course the z-tune
