No Lights Behind The Climate Control?

Since i bought my r33 2 years ago, i've never had lights behind the climate contol cluster.

Its really annoying when driving at night.

Ive pulled it out and check behind it, it seems to be a closed unit, and didn't want to break it to look inside.

Anyone else had this problem, and anyone know how to fix it???

if this is the lights behind the buttons? well yes i do but you but my screen and the demister little green light to show its on comes on but no others i have 2 have a trial and error when im driving!
