Some low life backed into my immmaculate GTR yesterday while I was parked for less than 30 minutes, 1cm wide gouges about 3" high each, plus the bumper is now discoloured and warped.

I'm so sick of people doing runners. I could see the person had wiped their hand across the damage and had left no note or anything. They knew they did wrong and just drove off.

I'm going back to the carpark today to see if they have surveillance tapes, but I doubt they are going to be helpful.

To say i'm pissed off is an understatement. If you could tell me who this person was I will probably be in jail next week on violence charges.

If I ever see anyone backing into a car and driving off as I have done in the past, I write down the car make/model, colour and numberplate, with my name and number. If only someone had returned the courtesy for me. :P

That's pretty low of them to do that. I witnessed some guy driving a trailor in a small car park. He didn't take the trailer into consideration when making a turn. Trailer hit a parked car and the driver actually saw this and kept driving to cause more damage. No effort to reverse and redo the turn.

Lucky I was there to jot down his details :P If you start being responsible and help others then eventually others will do the same thing if it happens to you.

i know how you feel. i was also side swiped while i parked my car at a parking lot for no longer 15mins. when i returned i found it unusual that my alarm sensor when off when i disarmed the car, looked around the vehicle and didnt see anything. until the next day when i went to open the passenger door, there was a fkn 20cm scrap along the side down near the rear quarters. needless to say, i was fkn pissed off.

my fat ass sister in law backed into my car in the driveway. i only had the car for 2 weeks when she did it. i fractured a bone in foot from kicking the shit out of the front of her car so much. we joke bout it now but unless u catch them in the act most ppl will drive off.

I had a similar thing happen to me just a few weeks back, but thankfully the damage was minimal. The number plate took most of the imact leaving the car with just a small dent and scratches. Still pisses me off though.

If I ever see anyone backing into a car and driving off as I have done in the past.....

uh..... I'll assume that was a typo. :O

A few months back I came out of the shops to see someone reverse into my car.....after it had just been sprayed... :D

The culprit re-parked their car, got out to look at their car, then walked over to mine.... had a quick squizz, then started walking back to their car.

I take it the plan was to drive off (this person had to borrow my pen when we exchanged details, so i can assure you they didn't return to their vehicle to write a note to leave on my car.)

I had to stand there and argue with this person, that it was in fact them who caused the damage to my car.

Even when I pointed out the lovely new addition of blue and white stripes along the side of their car, they still wanted to argue the point.

Since then I have had 4 more people hit my car while it has been parked (one was possibly a trolley)

I always park as far away from everyone else as I can (when possible), but this method DOES NOT WORK!

If people see your car parked all by itself, they must be worried that it is going to get lonely, and even with 300 empty parking spaces around, you can put money on it that the people who have NFI will always park right next to you.

Murphys law.

Bottom line is, if you want to drive your car, it's going to get damaged.

Even if you never stop to park, you'll still end up with stone chips on your bonnet, damaged rims from falling in pot holes, and bird shit on your windscreen.

...but yeah..... it certainly wouldn't hurt for people to start taking responsibility for their actions.

I remember seeing something about this in ACA perhaps 1 year ago about so many ppl just Leg it and dont leave a note if they back into ppl etc...

How much does it also hurt wen some cock sucking top bloke "keys" ya car... made me almost cy once to see my car fully keyed front to end....

My mates WRX was keyed to the bullshit... every fkn panel inc the roof.. he didnt even know who did it.. he doesnt have any enemys nothing.. only thing we could think of was a person who hated WRX's

Those guys should be hung. I am so lucky I haven't had my car keyed so far. It would make me so furious. They do it intentionally unlike those who accidentally dent your cars. I never go to shops and never park my car in unis/city car parks.

Just too paranoid. My gf parked her old crappy lantra at the front of the house and some fker walked on top of the car and concaved the roof during the night.

Don't confuse deliberate acts of vandalism with people who don't know how to park.

I'm sure that you'll find that most "keyings" are grudge related, and performed by people who are known to the victim...... whether the victim likes to admit it or not.

...this is about "random acts of crap driving"

My girlfriend saw a local tool here in North Sydney reverse his 911 Turbo into the car behind him then start to leave without a note until she said something and he wrote his details down and left them on the car he hit.

Wanker.

I also park far away from the shops and other cars, but yea doesn't work. Another car will park next to it anyway. I think it has something to do with an inate herding instinct (safety in numbers) maybe. People seem to becoming more and more like sheep and less and less like taking responsibility. Maybe our parents think the same about our generation though.

Feel for u, I would be furious. I'll make sure I take down details and leave in on victims windscreen if i ever see it happen to anybody.

those accidents sound minimal compared to the one on my dad's 318. he was parked in a narrow sidestreet, went in the house. a few minutes later, everyone heard and massive crash ran outside, saw a semitrailer leaving, didnt get the details. the damage was horrific, new fenders and the whole side of the car was resprayed, new rims and a side mirror as well. ARGH! lowest scum at their lowest! :wheresmyrantguy?:

    • Hi everyone, just looking to see what's available in the GTR seat options, testing the waters on what's available. Wanting a driver's seat to replace my old school OG jap race seat, going to re-register the car so need a factory seat. Prices currently seem to go from $300 to $2k for a driver's seat. What's options are there, that's good condition and actually a realistic price? Located Brisbane. Thanks
    • Are these a plug and play setup, and do they need a tune, like a haltech ecu etc? Thanks
    • Nice work on the paint. Those 3 studs are long as.
    • Hi everyone, still chasing a bunch of this stuff. Thanks
    • Been over 2 months since I have done anything on the S15 and had a day off today so got stuck into mounting the radiator and intercooler. I ended up using factory bottom mounts as bolted in and I did order some gktech top brackets but didn't work with the PWR radiator so made up some with aluminium flat bar. Spent way to long on them but pretty happy how they are. Next job was the intercooler. Used some more aluminium flat bar and did the bottom mounts first. Top was easy as just one long piece and 2 90 degree coming off rad support and welded them on. The bumper support required some notching to let the outlets sit where I want so will add some reinforcement later to strengthen it. I have also bought ecu and waiting for it to arrive. Went with a Link g4x Xtreme but will be adding a ptmotorsport expander to add a few extra inputs over CAN. Went through a few different configurations on pclink to get what I want to allow future expansion for sensors and gearbox upgrades. Ordered gktech rear arms but looking at the hardrace lower control arms to have some extra adjustment too will see how the alignment looks after first setup. Got 2 more weeks of work before shut down and will have almost 4 weeks to work on this so planning on hopefully firing up mid January.   Also bought a 2015 brz with a heap of good gear, did noosa hill climb a month back. Owned it for 3 days changed alignment and sent it. Finished the weekend 2nd in class and only .3 off the 180sx best time last year. MCA Red coilovers, gktech rear lca, bolt on lock kit and tie rods, whiteline toe arms, cusco 1.5way diff and 4.5 ratio, endless brake pads, headers, exhaust, perrin intake and e85 tune. Electronic steering adjustment, nankang crs with koya wheels 17x9 +35. Have bought rear traction arm and relocation kit, extended studs and v3 tie rod kit. Planning on also getting flex tune as lucky to get 300km a tank with e85 and short ratio. Car is a heap of fun to drive and super easy to work on. AC in the line up at Noosa was mint in 35degree weather.
