Here is a quote from a PM from ph1, who runs our host/server

the db has already taken a massive whack in performance with the installation of vbportal, and im still trying to optimise mysql to run with reasonable performance without hanging 3 or 4 times a day.  

the forum jump was removed, in an attempt to lower the db hit of generating each page. its a known problem/performance issue, and is even recommended to be left off by vbulletin.  

So this is why it was removed. I won't be adding it back either.
