reverted cookie domain to .skylinesaustralia.com (just then) as I'm doing some tests to see if the gallery logging in issue can be fixed easily.

please let me know if that breaks anything.

Funky mate i cleared all my cookies and all that like you have said an i still get logged out every time i close the browser... Is there anything else i need to be doing to fix the problem??

Using FireFox 1.0.4

Security i imagine is just default…

Cheers

Matt

There's no persistence..

You will notice sau cookies are not being stored on your computer.

I'm going to have a read of Invision Powerboard docs and see if I can shed any light.

I'm assuming you would have to set the cookie domain to

.skylinesaustralia.com

note the full stop prior to skylinesaustralia.com

The cookie path should not be set to anything, such as /forums/

The cookies are also required at the root www.skylinesaustralia.com address.

EDIT: hrmm something has changed recently.. well kind of recently..

I am now showing cookies saved.

I've had a look at the cookie path. It is set to /forums

You will notice if you browse www.skylinesaustralia.com it won't store the login details.

Browse www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums and the cooking info is store.

Its happening to me now too. I think someone who knows what they are looking at can probably sort it but my 2 yen is that there must be a cookie problem on the new site.

most likely I havent had a trouble on the new site until to today because i had a cookie from the old forums. presumably it is now expired and I have to log on each time

I noticed cookies were being retained around 7:40 tonight.

Both IE and Mozilla are fine.

I've cleared cookies and logged in, persistence is definitely now working.

I've also noticed the cookie path has been set back to root (from /forum). Everything is now working 100%.

Main web page and forums that is.

If your having issues clear what ever skylinesaustralia cookies there are and re-login.

can you test the gallery as well to see if it accesses the same cookies. Also log out and clear cookies then try logging in at the gallery and see if the cookie is used by the main forum?

that really dosen't achieve anything. If you have a solution that'll help others, share it, if you have nothing good to contribute to the thread, then just stay out of it.

Let's just say "cookie" and "restrictions" and "packet alocation" :)

Just use opera....

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
