My power steering hoses are leaking.

I need to replace the large hose that comes off the bottom of the reservior, that goes/comes from the powersteering pump.

Has anyone else done this before, and if so what did you use?

I was thinking of going to Pirtek etc, but the hose is one of them factory bent items....

Would a normal length of hose do the same job as the factory bent item?

Trying to figure out whether its worth the $90 odd Nissan are asking for it is the hard part

thanks

I did the run to pirtek. The hose isn't cheap (about 30 bucks a meter) but you can get away with a straight 400mm or so length.

Just make sure you get some hose that has a bit of flex in it, they have some thicker walled stuff that is too rigid for use with the reservoir in the stock location as you cant bend it tight enough.

Is the line actually split somewhere along the length (i.e. have you actually found the leak)? I had a problem with the hoses on mine: they had moved down from their position on the resevoir. A bit of grunt work 'walking' them back up on to the resevoir inlet and outlet, some new clamps, and all was rosey. Oh and it fixed the HICAS problem I was having too :P

The hoses start to perish around the end and the fluid seeps out through the end of the hose. I have replaced the reservoir to pump hose as well as the 2 return hoses as they have all gone the same way
