Hey guys,

Sorry if this has been posted before, or if I'm in the wrong section - or doing something wrong... but... I'm just curious what CAMS licence I should apply for?

I've had my car just over a month or so - it's a Prelude VTi-R, and I had a little accident the other week in the wet (wasn't speeding :) ), due to my inexperience with the car - so basically I'm wanting to get into driving on the track in a much safer environment, learning how to drive at my limit and hopefully one day, the limit of my car...

Am I best off getting a Level 2 NS or Level 2 S CAMS licence? From what I can tell - Level 2 S allows me the same things as Level 2 NS? And all I need to do to get Level 2 S is just send off the form? :)

Seeing as I don't own a Skyline (and I *think* SAU is CAMS affiliated) - are there any other CAMS clubs I should look at? I'm really a total n00b here, so anyone who can guide me in the right direction - please do!

Thanks! B)

The license you need is a L2S. L2NS only gives you access to motorkhanas and other non-speed events like drift.

If you want to give CAMS track days a go you need a L2S.

If you are in NSW you can join SAU NSW we are CAMS affiliated and you do not need to own a skyline. Same goes for SAU VIC if you live in VIC.

Finally, in NSW there are a lot of track days that don't need any CAMS license at all, they generally run under the organiser's insurance. eg Wakefield Park open days don't require a CAMS license.

The Honda Sports Car Club NSW is CAMS affiliated, if you want to stick with your brand.

Aside from that Duncan is about right. The only thing is that, even though the CAMS affiliated drift clubs only need a L2NS at the moment, with their speeds rising I don't think it'll be long before they require a L2S anyway.
