Custom Dash Colour

I was wanting to do something different with my R33 Dash Piece that goes from the gear stick, up over the climate control and stereo deck, and around over the top or the steering wheel to the other side.

I want to make it a new colour, has anyone else done this before? Can someone guide me to some pics perhaps and does anyone have suggestions of what colour I should go for and how to do it.

I was thinking a nice random bright orange or a blue, the car is gun metal grey and the interior is all dark in colour. I was thinking rubbing down the plastic and then going over it with some plastic primer and then what paint do I need to use?

simple go to your local paint place and ask them what they recomend

i just lightly sanded to get rid of original flakey coating plastic primed then top coated you can then clear but i was woried bout reflection/ glare

my dash surround is in a light grey with the feature pieces ( inst cluster speaker grills etc) round the cab in a light metallic blue

all done at home in the shed with spraypacs

my brother did our mates car. came out pretty decent.

But you gotta be careful cus sometimes the clearcoat will react and u gotta start again... its a pain, so make sure its all clean etc.

a fine silver with semi-gloss clearcoat would look good, sort of like on the R34 GTR interior

only problem with making a new colour is u gotta remember the mixture levels and stuff.. i did a mix of red a while ago and the guy that did it for me just went "ohhhh lil of this that and the other" and then we found it hard to match

just make sure u make enough of the paint if u need to do other parts of the interior or what ever

im takin mine to an airbrush artist, gettin him to throw out some ideas. , or some grapha mates might have a go at gettin somethin goin, thats my 2 cent's, its white atm but man it sucks when ya on ya 4th coat or white then bam!! ya get one tiny bit that didnt take, gotta peel it all of again. ill try find some pics
