Can I ask. What did you do wrong? Because that sounds to me like a pretty major mistake x3. Mostly to the point you would have to be losing the company some signficant money. Because if your one of their biggest earners, then they would have to be nuts to get rid of you.

50K jobs are nice work if you can get it mate. Im your age and i dont get anywhere near that (even tho i went to uni doing 2 science degrees)

Why not grab a 35-40K per year job that has better conditions in the short term? Surely you can cut back abit on your lifestyle options??

$10k is a lot to "cut back on" when you've been living on $50k a year and have a car and mortgage to pay off.. That's $192 a week... that's a lot.
