HKS 30/40 Will it fit???

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone knows weather the HKS 30/40 Ball Bearing turbo will fit straight onto an RB20.

I'm guessing it wont, and I would need custom manifold, external wastegate and after market management??

Also wat would be a good price for one that is second hand but never been put on a car..??

It won't fit you will need manifolds.

BTW a hks 3040 is a farken huge turbo and unless you intend to do the internals you will never see its full potenial

3040 is crazy for an RB20

The 3040 comes only in a T25 flange.

What's the flange on a Rb20?

Thats the turbo I'm going to put on mine, the extra 500cc makes a difference to the lag. I'm having a custom manifold made to fit it. I have forged internal going in, so hopefully the engine should hold together under the strain.

My mate has a 3037 on his SR20 and it's not as laggy as you would expect (3200rpm). There are a number of things you can do to improve the spool-up of the turbo. Smaller exhaust housing, big tuned length exhasut manifold, port and polished head, bigger intake plenum, port matching, ceramic coating of exhast housing and manifold etc.

I would still only suggest these turbo's for people who are after big power, not really good for street use.
