Hi peoples,

I have just signed up to the site and it is very cool. I have recently purchaced a mildly worked R32 GTS-T which I am very happy with. It is still running the standared intercooler and I want to upgrade to a new/bigger front mount intercooler. Where sould I get this done, (I live in Melb), and should I spend the doe on a custom job or not.

Cheers

JL :P

ARE do a full kit for the R32 GTSt and from all accounts their coolers are very good. The guy has done many hours R&D getting them right. Its $1178 for the cooler, or about $2100 for the whole kit. Im considering one of these myself at the moment, as is my brother.

And i sincerely hope thats not a stock turbo you plan on running 20psi through..... can you say BANG?

for $1200 u can get a cooler the size of 900 x 450 x 96 which is a monster and wont fit a r32!

My new cooler is 600 x 300 x 76 and fit real nice in the front of my car!!

AVO are a bit dodgy these days and u will be paying for their name not for the quality of their work.

Use ice they did the fitting of my new cooler and do a great job.

And i hope u aint planning on running the stock turbo at 20psi either!

Depends on your goals.

Stock turbo? If so just remove the panel under the front guard behind the stock cooler.

After extra acceleration? Unless you want to track race on a regular basis save your money and don't buy a front mount till you do something with your stock turbo , like high flow it.

after putting my new fmic on, and seeing how crap the stock cooler is i dont know y u keep saying not to put a fmic on. The stock cooler is a piece of crap, the air tubes on it are miniature at best and the design of the end tanks is useless. Its so small that at the speed the air goes through it, there is not enough surface area for any cooling to occur, and it was full of oil resisdue. I got a gain on 25rwkw at same boost just by putting a fmic on!

With the stock cooler and 0.8 bar i got 155rwkw and now if u see the red graph i got 165rwkw at on 0.5 bar and the green bar is 183rwkw at 0.9 bar!

Mate as far as I know the stock turbo's are ceramic based and if running 13psi (recomended MAX!!) you still have a chance of blowing your turbo!! I would say buy another turbo and FMIC together so save up a bit more and get it all put in at once....

Someone please correct me if im wrong.....
