Urgent Help Needed

Hey guys,

Am getting my car ready for the next round this weekend at winton and have struck a problem....

The turbo seems to be spooling ok (around14-16psi mark) however it seems to be loosing all the boost just as the turbo is supposed to kick in. So the car accels ok and turbo spools ok upto about 2800rpm but then accel just dies and the car coughs and splutters. I have checked the intercooler and piping for any leaks and can't find any as well as all the other piping.

Prior to this the only problem my car was experiencing was a dead battery.

Any ideas??

I'd say your hit the fuel/boost cut if your still running stock ecu try lowering the boost to 12psi

nah he runs microtech, can you check the actuator easily? sounds like its opening and just and getting stuck somehow?

Paul.....close but not quite It actually runs a Wolf3d. Thing is I have been running the same tune for about a year and 1/2 with no issues so it has to be something that has come up in the last day or so. What actuator are you taking about?

Spoken to my tuner over the phone and the 1st thing he suggested was a blocked cat.....however cat was pulled off and is fine...

Any more ideas?

you cant view the knock sensor value cos the wolf doesnt support it does it> would be handy to see if its knocking or doing something crazy. when it comes on does it wind up normally or is it like extra laggy and slower? maybe busted exhaust wheel or a chip in one of the blades, altho hiflow so a bit far fecthed cos the exhaust wheel is brand new

It sounds like it could be something as simple as spark plugs or coil packs???

Check these and give the airflow meter a quick clean and see how you go.

Cheers for your help guys.....after checking the hand controller it seems she was running extremely lean and after checking the fuel press reg it seems the vacuum hose had a split in it. So most likely this will fix the problem but will chuck her on the dyno to check everything out....
