I am looking around for prices for a tune on my car (RB25), it has a misfire above 4500Rpm and I've got bigger injectors to go in. The car has a Haltech E6K aswell as other things.

I jsut got back from APC at Underwood then and he said around 500-600 plus around 150 for fitting of injectors, possibly more. He would need to check it out first (beause of a custom plenum)

I think this is a bit dear??? What is everyone else paying, any recommendations???

For a retune of injectors only, I would say 500-600 plus is excessive. Having said that, I don't know much about what's required for any change in Haltech maps. But that price covers 3-4 hours on the dyno and that doesn't even include fitting the injectors.

I would get other quotes.

I've been told $200-$300 to tune up with different injectors.

Little touch ups, more boost, different turbo etc is $100-$200.

Depends on the tuner, some charge by the hour, some charge for a 'tune' regardless of time taken.

Some go that little step more and keep the car over night to get the cold/warm starts perfect.

Some charge and don't do anything special.

What I would do... Hang around.. Who cares if it takes a whole day.

At least you will see for your self exactly how long it goes on the dyno.

Take a camera, few vids pics etc.

i don't no whats involved with ur tune but....

i had to get my car tunned a few months ago,

they turned down the boost, played with a few other things and fitted new plugs,

all up it was on the dyno for 3 hours at a cost of $300 total....

was done by "Charlies Automotive"

don't no if thats any help....

As a rough guide from VIC prices $5-600 would cover 4-6 hours of dyno time.

Instead of asking places how much for a "tune", ask them how much they charge per hour for tuning time on the dyno and then ask how long they think it will take to get it running with the new injectors.

In VIC, some places have a flat rate for dyno time i.e $100-120 per hour whereas others will have a higher first hour surcharge and then a flat rate after that i.e first hour $150 then $70 per hour after that.

The best advice I can give is dont be shy.
