The R34 GTT ECU and TCU are contained in the one unit.

I have had my transmission rebuilt and I'm told it can handle 300rwkw without needing the soft landing, ie timing drop, that the stock ECU does.

I was reading Sydneykid's thread on the SITC and thought perhaps I need a piggyback ECU that goes between the stock ECU and the coils.

Which ones do this? Unichip?

Then I had a brain wave.

What if I get a PFC and plug most of the wires into it so it can run the engine. Then run extensions to the signal wires that the TCU requires to run the auto transmission over to the stock ECU so that both the PFC and the stock ECU will be receiving input from all the sensors.

Any wires that are sending information from the stock ECU to the engine will not be connected. The wires that send information the transmsission would be connected.

What do you all think?

adam, the pfc will run an auto car. The only problem is flaring on the shifts as it doesn't pull back timing for the shifts.

I can't see your theory working but I am waiting to be proved wrong. :)

Why can't you just wait for darkhalf's boards? hehe

I did think there shouldn't be any clear reason with enough wiring to run both ECU's simultaneously it shouldn't work??

I haven't seen any previous mention of this on here..

Any reason why?? other than the ~$1000 pricetag of course. I guess for R34 they have a slightly different version of the autos.

The shifts wont flare on my car because my gears changes are too tight.

I know there is the odd R33 with PFC but don't R33's have a separate controller for the auto? What happens if I press the button on my steering wheel with a PFC and nothing else? Probably nothing cos it wont be connected to anything.

Adaptronic 440. It has a lot of integrated features which can save you money, ie boost control, serial input for a wideband, programmable outputs, plus some neat adaptive tuning features, ie with a wideband it can automatically alter a fuel map (though best results are done manually). Plus theres a flex fuel functionality if you're interested in e85.

Just be mindful that you're starting from scratch with ignition and fuel maps, so the learning curve is very steep. Although there are base maps available, they arent very good. You'll need to learn how to tune yourself, even in conjunction with a tuner.

i was looking at other options to have a true 4" intake without going down to 3" for the z32, or not having to run a z32 in the cooler piping thats all

Nistune is not limited to running Z32 AFM. You can install an R35 AFM sensor into a 1000mm drainpipe if you want and set Nistune up to run with that.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 馃槈. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 馃槏.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 馃檹 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 馃槈. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 馃槏 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
