Hi,

I just fitted an aftermarket bov on my R33 and now I have the plumb back pipe just sitting there I have just put some race tape over the hole (temp. fix) but what do most of your guys do with this pipe afterwards?

I see the plumb back pipe simply returns back to the pipe running from the turbo to the AFM/pod filter.

I was thinking about having a custom pipe made from the turbo to the AFM.

Or to save the stuffing around does anyone know where I could buy one?

Michael

just use something to block the hole where the BOV plumbs back in .. that way you can always put the stock one back in if you get defected.

people i know have used the rubber stoppers from chairs legs before. dont use tape.. wont last long

i used a welch plug and it works fine and has been in there for about 8 months now. i am going to see a custom metal fabricator today about getting a new stainless stell or alluminium pipe made up to run bettween my turbo and afm. i will pm you and tell you how i go.

it also depends on how much work you are going to do to you engine, if you are going to retain the standard size inlet on you turbo and in the factory position then go for it otherwise put up with it till you get your new set up.

cheers,

boz

    • Where did you get the test done? What did it cost? Can you just book an appointment? And I presume it's independent so failing would not mean suddenly having an unregisterable car? I would like to make some exhaust changes on my car and would love to get before and after results to see how much of a difference it makes. If it's in Botany even better as that is pretty much local.
    • Sorry solder been off line for a bit, still lots to move on too with the r31.  yeah the wiper motor is a go for sure.  wow September that’s pretty rude, do you think the interior loom is much different to mine? Of course I would need to swap the clock also as mine has a trip computer that doesn’t work haha
    • Just got back from a week away out west, and it seems the R31 forum isn't responding ~ I know there's a lot of AI/bot scraping causing problems on da'net at the moment, so dunno what's going on. I'm actually more concerned about another member on there, I've been trying to help rebuild his automatic box... no idea where he's up to in the build, frustrating, a bit it is.... Anyone got any news?
    • @GTSBoy Wouldn't you just prefer to have a modern dash though?  Even if you could wave a magic wand and have the fancy gauge cluster your describing, a modern dash would do a million more things and do a better job of it.
    • Howdy ~ got that wiper motor out, all good ....also, replied to your post in the R31forum wrt ashtray and rails ...but I've been away for a week, and getting home, that site's not responding, so posting here for FYI... ...also, our mate sold this place last week (that was a surprise to come home to), so we've got until Sept. or so to move out ~ needless to say, if you want any other bits off that R31 pinny donor, now's the time to claim them 😃 Good to see that carpet piece finding a home...that was a bit of a score 😎
