If your a poor uni student you shouldnt have purchased a car, and illegally modified if you cant afford to take it back to standard. Many people have got em. No point crying poor

cmon dude, thats a lil harsh. I'm sure alot of ppl out there are uni students and drive lines. Its all about the passion for the car. I go to Uni too, work part time, and sometimes i can't afford the stuff that happens to my car, but at the end of the day, its my passion and nothings gonna stop me from doin wat i wanna do.

Not ridin ya, just thought the comment was a tad unfair

I'd say that it wasnt unfair. Read these forums every day and you'll understand what im talking about in an instant.

Everyone loves to jump on here and cry about "the police"

All the are doing is thier job.

They care - because its the law

There are no if's or but's.

you dont see me on here whinging i was fully EPA'd 3 months ago and now have to do an engine conversion...

why? Cause i knew it was illegal what id done.

Its plain as day comments like these

i dont even understand these rules against modifications... why does the government care about this stuff... its not hurting n e one.. they need to re prioritise...

If people dont understand, then the following applies

1) dont sook when you get reamed

2) find out what is and what is not legal and go about mods that way

3) illegally mod your car then pay consequences if you get caught

All the info is freely avaliable.

Mooks is the car i always see parked near swinburn hawthorn i think.

Isent this dj lethals old car???

If you drive ur modified skyline near knox you desirve to get caught as everyone knows peticock is always around there.

.

yeah i got to swinburne... and yeah it is dj lethals old car.

I dunno about deserve to get cought since my house is 2 min from knox its hard to avoid it.

R31Nismoid your comments are so negative.

What have i ever done to you.?

Your comments have actually hurt my feelings. Im sorry i even spoke.

Thanks to everyone with helpfull comments.

hmm .. this si the reason why i keep ALL of my stock parts when ever i "upgrade" ... and i was missing two stock parts when i bought the car (airbox and boost solenoid).. so i went out of my way to aquire these items... sure they sit in my garage and dont get used... but i have them there as security incase i do perchance get "done" for my modifications...

-Ruffels

and R31Nismoid ... lol not having a go mate.. but, sure they are Laws... but its not like putting an illegal modification on your car is a haneous crime... i put an atmo bov on last week, sure its illegal, but i don't see myself as a criminal, however i do acknowledge that they are against the law and take full responsibility if i get caught!

that's a bit harsh R31Nismoid. have some compassion. sure it's the law, but this is also a public forum and people need to vent their discontent somewhere. it's better to "whinge" on a forum rather than take out your anger in a violent manner - which some are known to do.

Don't worry about Ash, he's just twisted and bitter that he was bent over and reamed by the EPA like he was in a dark alley during the Mardi Gras.

Thats harsh Ash, i'm a poor uni student too. :(

...But you probably wouldn't say it to anyones face...

yeah i got to swinburne... and yeah it is dj lethals old car.

Well if you were simply driving past knox on the way home or something and got caught then its just bad timing i guess. But if you were doing knox laps setting off ur BOV every few seconds then thats a different story.

and in terms of that, yes, it is a public forum, which means other people can state their opinion of whatever anyone else says/vents/"whinge's" about

Just got an on the spot fine, a cannary and EPA booking... Great. I knew i should of stayed out of Knox. N e way i have only have 7 days to get a roadworth cert. can n e one help.. what would be really good if someone knew someone that did special roadworths.?

Other wise im going to need to aquire the following parts for my r33 gts-t...

If anyone has them for sale or hire.. eh.

Stock steering wheel

springs to get my car above legal height.

2 x front headlights( just the glass if it that is possible ) i have eyelids and they are not comming off in a hurry.

2 x stock rims with legal rubber. or 2x   255 x 17 tyres with leagal tread...

Im just a poor uni student and this roadworth is bad enough. The EPA is gonna be so much more effort/cash. Does anyone know how to get out of an EPA.?

I was thinking unregistering the car and getting it regestered in another name. would that work? <_<

I agree there should be somewhere to vent your anger although not bad mouth the police (which no one has).

But.........

The above post goes beyond that. As a club SAU is trying to establish itself as a reputable club with a base of enthusiasts. If people started replying to this thread with answers to the two questions in bold above, what does that say about the club? We all know Police read this forums.

IMO Ash was to the point and has pointed out valid points. If the post was put up asking for just stock parts for the car, it would be different.

My 2c guys.

yeah points taken guys. My bad... n e way just a quick question about RWC's if i may. Do you have to have all the same type of tyres on all 4 wheels.?

What was exactly on the canary?

Most rwc places will ignore 90% of the crap the cops write on canarys as most is bs.

...But you probably wouldn't say it to anyones face...

bet i would

Anyway, yeah i might sound harsh... So be it.

As you said this is also a public forum, im allowed to say what i want also and point out a few key things.

There is however a time and place for everything. Police read the forums, talking about illegal things like dodgy RWC isnt the smartest of ideas and it makes SAU look bad, let alone is someone is stupid enough

Your lucky the thread hasnt been edited to be honest.

At the end of the day, break the law... expect to get punished for it.

As Alan (saff) pointed out. If this was a "yeah i got done, has someone got stock parts" thats a lot different to "Can someone get me a dodgy RWC"

I'll give a hand anywhere i can, ive always helped out anyone where i can in this club

i'm not saying that it was harsh that mooks was pulled over and reamed - sh*t, my cars still not on the road. I've copped engineers, RWC the whole she-bang at once and it taken me 3 months to save up enough money for the paperwork.

The only comment harsh was the one about the poor uni student shouldn't buy a car he if he can't afford to put it back to stock. We don't buy our cars in anticipation of having to de-mod it every 3 months or so. I'm sure alot of import drivers out there are uni students trying to make ends meet and have a nice car in the meantime.

But like aforementioned - mod the car illegaly and expect to get done. Just hope that your lucky enough not to.

Ease up, shit happens

    • Back again. I returned to Japan in Jul/Aug to spend time with the car on my birthday and remind myself what all the sacrifice and compromise is for. It happened to line up with the monthly morning meet in Okutama, which I have been wanting to go to for a long time. It's a unique event at a unique spot with really rare, interesting, and quirky cars. It's where all the oldheads and OGs gather. The nighttime scene at DKF certainly has its place and should be experienced if you're into cars, but there's too much bad attention and negativity around it now. IMO the better time is Sunday morning at DKF or Okutama; it's more chill and relaxed. I'm glad I was finally able to go, but not sure it's worth the drive from all the way from Nagoya immediately the day before, unless I was already staying in Tokyo for the days right before the meet, because you have to wake up quite early to make it in time. Funnily enough though I didn't drive the car all that much this trip because it was just too damn hot. While there were zero issues and running temps were nominal and the A/C was strong, RBs already run crazy hot as it is. Sure, it took it all like a champ but something about driving these cars in the ridiculous heat/humidity bothers me and makes me feel like I'm asking too much of it. I'm just me being weird and treating the car like a living thing with feelings; I'm mechanically sympathetic to a fault. Instead I was mainly driving something else around - a KX4(silver) 2001 X-Trail GT, that I acquired in May. There's a few different flavors to choose from with Xs, but visually it's the Nissan version of the Honda CR-V. Mechanically it's a whole different story as this, being the top-trim GT, has an SR20VET mated to a four-speed auto and full-time AWD! It was a very affordable buy in exceptional condition inside and out, with very low mileage...only 48k kms. Most likely it was owned by an older person who kept it garaged and well-maintained, so I'm really happy with how it all worked out. It literally needs zero attention at the moment, albeit except for some minor visual touch-ups. I wanted something quirky, interesting, and practical and for sure it handily delivers on all three of those aspects. I was immediately able to utilize the cargo and passenger capacity to its full extent. It's a lot of fun to drive and is quite punchy through 1st and 2nd. It's very unassuming -in the twisty bits it's a lot more composed than one would think at a glance- and it'll be even better once I get better tires on it(yes, it's an SUV but still a little boat-y for my liking). So...now I have two golden-era Nissans in silver. One sports car and one that does everything else; the perfect two-car solution I think👍 The rest of the trip...I was able to turn my stressed brain off and enjoy it, although I didn't quite get to do as much as I thought. I did some interesting things, met some interesting people, and happened into some interesting situations however, that's all for another post though only if people really want to know. Project-wise, I went back to Mine's again to discuss more plans and am hoping to wrap that up real soon; keep watching this space if that interests you. Additionally, while working in the tormenting sweatbox that is the warehouse, I was able to organize most of the myriad of parts that my friend is storing for me along with the cars, and the 34 has a nice little spot carved out for it: And since it can get so stupid hot in there, that made it all the more easy -after I was standing there looking at the car and said 'f**k it'- to finally remove all the damn gauges that have mostly been an eyesore all this time. Huzzah. The heat basically makes the adhesive backing on the gauge mounts more pliable to work with, so it was far less stressful getting this done. I didn't fully clean it up or chase the wiring though; that will happen once I have the car in closer possession. Another major reason to remove all that stuff is to give people less reasons to get in my car and steal s**t while it's being exported/imported when/if the time comes, which leads us to my next point... ...and that is even though it's time in Japan is technically almost up since it's a November car and the X would be coming in March, I'm still not entirely sure where my life and career is headed; I don't really know what the future looks like and where I'm going to end up. I feel there's a great deal of uncertainty with me and as a result of that, it feels like I'm at a crossroads moreso now than any point in my life thus far and there are some choices I need to make. Yes, I've had some years to consider things and prepare myself, however too much has happened in that time to maintain confidence and everything feels so up in the air; tenuous one might say. Simply put, there's just too much nonsense going on right now from multiple vectors. Admittedly, I'm struggling to stay in the game and keep my eyes on the prize. So much so in fact, that very recently I came the closest I ever have before to calling it quits outright; selling everything and moving on and not looking back. The astute among you will pick up on key subtext within this paragraph. In the meantime I've still managed to slowly acquire some final bits for the car, but it feels nice knowing there's not much left to get and I'm almost across that finish line; I have almost everything I'll ever want for my interpretation and expression on what it is I think an R34 should be. 'til later.
    • Thanks for that, hadn’t used my brain enough to think about that.
    • Also playing with fire if they start to flow more air down low than what the stock twins can. It's not even up top you need to worry, it can be at 3000rpm and part throttle and it's getting way more flow than it should.
    • Any G40/1000 or G40/1250 results out there?
    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.
