So I take it you didn't make it to the drags tonight then???

Amazing, after all the piss weak meetings we have had over the last 5 years, all of a sudden there is a mention of a few V8s doing a burnout or 2 & we get over 15,000 people at the Drags!!!!!!

Even then, we still get 1 1/2 hour breaks between runs to clean the track.

Was great to see some fast runs & all, & dont mean to winge, but for **** sake, when will we catch up to the rest of the country!!!

Anyway, glad you are back mate & look forward to seeing your Black beast out on some cruises soon.

Cheers.

damn, I didn't know the drags were on .... I was going to ring you to catch up for dinner or somethng - now I really wish I had! Damn jetlag - I crashed early in the end. You'll be pleased to hear I picked up 2 bottles of Johnny Walker Black and one bottle of Green duty free too :D

Have you got your demon running yet John? Haven't heard whether you made it over to Vic in the end or not.

The 34 is still a way off yet - I am going to really try to sell PCOTY now and get the 34 complied asap. Willl still be at least a month more though :P .... the darn holiday put everything on hold - but you get that. Will catch up with you soon.

not sure about the cruise Julian - I am thinking I will take the 200SX off the road, get some cosmetic items fixed, then try really hard to sell it. After I've sold it will get the 34 complied, then I am all good. So I might organise a big cruise for mid-November (as a realistic date to have the 34 on the road) .... maybe to Victor or something. I am thinking we should paintball while we are down there. What are everyone's thoughts? The only downside is I would have to get a minimum number of say 10 x $50 deposits before we go, as you have to book and make a deposit ahead. Start saving people!

    • More photos are up, and the price has been dropped to $16,000. It's just had a service and a new 12V battery, too.
    • I agree on doing some better than factory pistons, rods, and oil pump. For anyone using the vehicle on the road, I don't get why everyone wants big cams. The stock cam profile, with some more lift would be mint for road usage. Everyone going big cams and then wondering why it isn't as responsive in traffic, when they've shifted the torque curve upwards an additional 1000RPM. Make torque, at lower RPM. Sure it's not as cool as claiming "500KW" and revving it to 8,0000RPM, but that same torque 2,000RPM earlier... Then you don't need the extremely high end pistons and rods, and blah blah blah.
    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
    • Oh man, sorry, $60.00000000... 😛
    • That's more or less what he meant. What it really means is that you do not have to go full crazy on the build. Don't need the best oil pump, expensive rods & pistons, big cams, etc. You can upgrade whatever you want instead of using stock level items, but you don't have to. Having said that - any time an RB is opened up, if anything is getting replaced, I think the opportunity should be taken to do all the sensible upgrades. Pistons, rods, pump, etc.
