My R32 Gtr - Update

well, i finally have the time to continue working on my gtr!

done a few things yesterday, check out the pics.

This weekend ill be cleaning off the surface rust, and rust proofing the lot!

hopefully the heat will kick in soon, so i can eventually start painting the bay.

skylines rule all. it not until you pull it to bit you appricate the amount of engineering put into them.

One thing i love is the fact that you can undo a few bolts and drop all the steering, and suspension. its all so........ modular?

I could never do that with my Skyline. The problem is I am brilliant at disassembling things, but when it comes to the reassembling, not so good. My car would be dismatled into components within 15 minutes but it would never again be a car.

Good luck to you though! It's definitely a do-able proposition. A mate of mine built himself a Nissan One-Via from parts and that was a pretty awesome car. He stripped out all the sound deadening etc. while he was at it so it was loud as hell but very light. And 270rwhp meant it was damn quick.

this is the extent you have to go to to paint the engine bay properly....we had the engine out of ours and did the same....came up a treat.....so glad we went the extra mile.....or four

well the main plan was to paint it up to make it all look good, but i found a heap of surface rust on the drivers side caused by a leaking battery at some of time.

So I figured i might as well pull the lot out and do it properly, fully cleaned, rust proofed, and painted mint.

not no more! i sepnt all day sunday cutting sick with a wirebrush drill attachment.

the rust is gone. I coated it in kill rust to stop it from coming back.

will be stopping at an auto paint store this arvo to pick up some undercoat and body filler etc etc
