Hey Maj, I'm after exactly what you listed there in regards to the $600 for basically the bodykit. Do you know how much he'd charge if I got the parts to him already off the car, eg, just took them over in the back of a van. Removing is easy and if it costs less for labour then that's great :P

Hey guys,

Well he said that it will depend on each individual car... but he said that he would look after us. His quote on my car was on not seeing it for about 4 weeks and all parts were to stay on the car.

SO,

Jimbo,

Yours would probably be the same roughly.

Kabab,

If the bar can be sprayed on the car then it should be around $130. to do the scratch if it is just a spray in the same colour (which it obviously will) then probably around $80-$120?

Has anyone got any other estimates or should I start talking a bit more seriously to this guy?

Dan.

I've got a quote on the scratch which is about $300 which sounds about right because it will need the have then entire rear 1/4 sprayed :P to look good.

As for the bar it will need a fair bit of finishing and will have to be sprayed and fitted.

Whats the actual location of this place becuase i can't afford to be without my car for to long..

Thanks for your help ! ;)

kabab,

The shop is out Richmond way. I'll give the bloke a ring tomorrow and get his address. Does your rear need panel beating? Call me tomorrow and I'll give you his number if you want. (I have his card in my car and my Girl has my car at the moment! Sorry)

My number is 0414 195 896, you can call me anytime before 1 tomorrow as I have meetings after that.

Dan.

I spoke to Mark @ Hills MS today - he has a Spray Shop / Panel Beaters on the Central Coast - He would do good deal for us SAU people, but like everyone knows, every job is different. I'll ask more specific details next week when I see him again. I know the central coast is a drag, but if it saves the bucks, then wtf ?? Stay tuned.....

HEL-RZA,

I'm not sure about the price for whole car, only quote I got for that was ~$4000 from Hume Smash.

Guys, can you please indicate both first preference and who else you would be OK with, so far there won't be a group coz we're all looking at different shops!

shop 1: 1

shop 2: 2

shop 4: 1

Airzone, $250 sounds about right, are you in for a group or going with someone else?

Hi All,

Looks like group buy is disbanded unless we can get some more agreement on a single workshop.

Please reply to this thread by Friday if you are in, otherwise we'll have to make our own arrangements. We can still contact the stores above, but I would expect higher prices.

    • CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) has existed since the 80's. I'm looking into buying a Hummer H1 and they generally included it.
    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
