why would someone want to do that lets see;

cuz a wastegate is the best form on boost controll, and gate sounds awsome :(

hmm you can convert it, just take off the stock wastegate and get a manifold to suit gate or just get alittle add (i havnt seen any in australia yet but they uses it in japan) basicly its an extendion that goes from the turbo to the stock manifold and has flange opening so you can connect the gate there.

i try a find a pic of it for ya

I've heard the results aren't too great.

I think the point razor was trying to make was why bother.

I tend to agree. Sell your turbo and buy one designed as an external gate if you really want one... which brings us to the question that razor asked.. why do you want one?

definately what he would be getting at. Its not worth it

Kinda not getting the answer to the question... but its more work and cost than it would be worth in gains of performance (if any gain at all)

If you've already got the manifold and gate just get a new rear housing for the turbo with no flap or braze up the existing internal wastegate flap.

What type of turbo btw? If it's a garrett you could get a housing off the shelf probably.
